Bill,
Please ask model Power if the Ford Crown Vic is dead from them. No new photos of it in ads for January and February of Model Railroad News. This, after I was told the Crown Vics would be available by Feb. '08 when I met with Model Power at iHobby back in October. In diecast, Model Power had alot of momentum and totally lost it. Reel Rides had a great opportunity but blew it with the Cadillac Eldorado. I guess we'll see what MP says at Nuremberg.

Bill,
This is going to be a stretch for sure, but if Model Power has a problem with High Speed and their partnership ends, how about talking to Maisto? Can they be persuaded to enter HO scale and fine tune their tooling to satisfy collectors and Model Power?
I just purchased a 3-pack for my son and it wasn't half bad, a newer Monte Carlo, Lexus IS300, and PT Cruiser panel van. Of course, they're toys but what if Maisto can be persuaded to get serious in HO? Aren't manufacturers always looking at new opportunities? Remember, I know this is a stretch! First, they need to get a clear plastic insert for glass!
I want to see Model Power resolve its issues with High Speed, believe me.

Bill,
I believe you said that Model Power would have some news for us in a few weeks, that was in mid-June. Now that the NMRA show is here in Detriot, have they announced anything if they are there? What will be their second release of the mini-exclusives? Even if they announced new, darker colors of the Crown Vic I would be happy, for the detective cars of the police dept!

Sounds like it has been canceled to me. What has changed in the legal department? Busch did this series and they did, what 49 states including Honolulu? Now Model Power can't even do a handful of states. I can't wait to see them at iHobbyExpo in Rosemont, we will surely debate announcements and delivery of product, something Model Power can't handle at the moment.

I just took a look at the Model Power web site and noticed that the state police cars have been taken out. Have they been eliminated or just delayed? How do you release a Crown Vic with a new light bar and not have it painted for a few police agencies? This makes no sense to me, but I do hope I'm wrong. I knew something was wrong when a rep told me they would be available in Jan. '07 and kept getting delayed.
This can't be a licensing issue because ISP is a police agency that seems to be eager to cooperate with manufacturers. For example, in HO scale, Busch, Trident and Walthers all have vehicles painted for Illinois State Police. And they seem to sell at a pretty brisk pace.
If Model Power cancels the police series they will need to redeem themselves in a big way with me because I had big plans for that Crown Vic.

Speaking of Model Power, does anybody have any news on the painted versions of the Ford Crown Vic police car? I was told in Oct. '06 in Rosemont, IL from a rep that these would be out in Jan. '07. What are they waiting for? I e-mailed them and they said summer delivery for '07 but where are the photos on their website?
I also await a second release of minis but it seems like they are still deciding which ones to make. I would like to see more modern cars from the 90's-2007 from MP because they did a fine job with their first release. Maybe in their 3rd release?
