Alright Bill, maybe I'm an eternal optimist or, maybe I'm just tired of BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Audi and every other vehicle that's been mass produced over the years. Just looking for something different, that's all. How about Jaguar? They are still under Ford ownership and the S-Type is pretty sharp. Volvo would be good, a new SUV from them would be big for me.

Bill,
They don't have to be American cars all of the time with me, if they happen to be Japanese cars like the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord or Civic, bring it on! This is truly where we can grow in this hobby if given a chance by the top 3 Japanese manufacturers. I'll also take any modern Japanese SUV or pickup.

Bill,
Any chance that the Dodge Charger will be painted for the top state police agencies in America? Of course, states that actually have the cars. In Illinois, ISP is using the Charger. If that car comes painted in ISP paint, look out! I'm already thinking of expanding my ISP station by roughly 75%. That will mean a larger parking lot for those new Crown Vics from Model Power (if they ever come out) and the Ricko Charger (if the state police cars come out).

About the new E-350 van, I haven't seen a real one yet on the roads so I hope it's because it's delayed. As for the RPS version, I am really excited about it, but I prefer the cargo van. A new cargo van in HO done with quality, are you kidding me? That would sell because there are some slim pickings out there for HO full size vans.

I'm wondering if RPS has the same intention as Athearn, that is, to paint their trucks in railroad and contractor liveries eventually. If RPS does this, they will see their sales triple with me because I'm sure they will give proper attention to quality pad printing.
JM82,
RPS does have a rescue ambulance in the pipeline, it might take a year or two to come out.

These new pickups from RPS are absolutely excellent! I purchased my first batch last night and was very pleased with the quality and price. Best pickups I've ever seen in HO scale. I hope they sell like hotcakes because RPS has some great vehicles in the pipeline, and all of them are a must have for the modern crowd.
When a product comes out and it is of superb quality, you know that the company really cares about the customer and getting it right. They were worth the wait and I'm glad they were not rushed to market. Packaging is also a plus, very minimal amount of plastic and cardboard, which saves space when it comes to storage.

Bill,
Thanks for the good news; now we need RPS to gain some momentum and become a force in this industry. Hopefully, they can handle 1 or 2 models at a time and build them on time from this point forward because they have ambitious plans. My Ford dealership expansion is counting on RPS to crank out some quality HO models!

When it comes to vehicles, Athearn is very good in my opinion at delivering product. They actually have the tooling complete and the model virtually done when they announce a HO vehicle now. That's impressive. Their John Deere series of vehicles are a good example of that.
I did not mean to slam RPS, believe me. RPS has the capability of becoming my munber 1 company in HO, but we'll see how it plays out. They face some formidable competition from Masterpiece, and possibly Athearn if it decides to get into modern automobiles and SUV's, etc. I would say Ricko too, but Ricko is probably done with new, modern American tooling, at least for now. My comment is based on future tooling of American vehicles in HO.

I would hope that RPS is thinking way past the Edge because at the rate they're releasing vehicles, everything on their website will be out by 2010. Hopefully, the production snafus will be minimized and every vehicle listed comes out, because RPS is coming out with models I really would love to display.

Nick,
Did you find out that Motormax is doing the Vega? I know they want to do it in HO, but it is too small. If something got worked out and the Vega comes out in HO, that's a big release! As for now, I'll believe it when I see it.

Bryan,
Weren't you just in Chicago the other day? Wow, do you get around! I'm sorry for the delay, but some shops that carry a good supply of HO vehicles are Ram Hobby in Chicago, Al's Hobby Shop in Elmhurst, and Des Plaines Hobbies in Des Plaines.
Everything in HO seems to be limited edition these days, no surprise there. The new F250 might come out at the same time as the Masterpiece Jeep and stepvan. Yikes! I'm in trouble!

JM82,
Thanks for the info. The one thing about RPS is that their production schedule seems to change all of the time. I thought the Ford Expedition was going to be their first SUV to hit the hobby shops? Well, it doesn't matter, I love the real Edge and I can't wait to see it in HO.

One thing I can't wait to see is the packaging, plastic box or blister pack like Athearn? Yes, Athearn made it possible to have high quality models even in a blister pack. Another good amber color is Turn Signal Amber from Testors.

My local hobby shop will be trying to be a retailer for RPS, so I'll be very happy if I can buy these pickups from them. Hopefully, these will be in stores soon, they'll be worth the wait.

Bill,
The new Dodge Challenger would be very welcome news if it comes as a 2008 model. Any 2009 model year vehicle will be a collectible or it gets put on the layout with alot of modeler's license! If the 2009 model isn't so drastically different from the 2008 model, then I could see using it for the layout. Then, it will be interesting to see how astute my guests are when it comes time for a showing.
If the 2009 model vehicle is a brand new intro, then I will probably collect it, as I've been doing quite a bit of that recently!
