Dear Sirs,
Michael Scheel (www.mo87.de) got his Busch A 6 and he has written a test report about this outstanding model.
The Herpa-Magic NSU TT is following the same example than the excellent Busch-Model, which was originally created by Euromodel. I´m not aware of a facelift with a lower roof. In my opinion the Herpa-Model is completely useless. There where thousands of the original Euromodel sold at ebay at a low price. Why should I buy the Herpa model. I think it´s the same with the Renault R 16. The Norev model is not perfect but the Herpa model doesn´t look much better. So why should I buy....?
It´ll be completely different if Herpa choses other cars from the 60ies and 70ies.

I think it´s the same with the Renault R 16. The Norev model is not perfect but the Herpa model doesn´t look much better What is strange about this Herpa R16 is that it would have been more interesting to reproduce the last version available, with dual headlights and square rear lights. At least, it would have been a different model from the Norev one.

The Magic Line is quite perplexing, isn't it? We should send every posting regarding the Magic Line to Herpa and see if it has any effect... Soon, there will probably be a Magic Line VW Beetle.

Another after-toyfair-news: Marc Schmidt said on www.mo87.de, that people from Daimler told him, that a 1/87-model of the Mercedes CLS (the 4door-Coupé of the E-Class) will be presented in autumn (probably made by Herpa).

I received my MAZ toy fair issue today. Some more news and observations: Artmaster They displayed a resin kit of a Zettelmeyer ZD 3000, a kind of wheeled front end loader. If only I could translate "Radplaniergerät". Beka Very welcome for many kit-bashers is probably their release of a firetruck ladder with mounting frame. Brekina The rumored Ford (?) from the 1970s will be available in two distinct body styles. It's still not clear whether it will be a Taunus, a Granada or something entirely different. Guisval Surprisingly this manufacturer presented "Quads" similar to the new Wiking models. Herpa/Magic The MAZ states that the NSU and Renault are plastic models, not diecast. They will be on the shelves in the second half of the year. HK New are: Tatra 48 3-wheeler, Tatra 805 open racing car, Tatra 204 pickup. Photos are already on the HK website. SAI Allegedly the new Retro87 models are made by V&V. I am not sure if I should believe that. The Peugeot 505 is from another source anyway and looks, well ... not convincing. Schuco ... ... is declaring the Boley firetrucks their own developments. SES Wow - that looks ugly (both the new "models" and the future of the company). They were showing ludicrous plaster (!) models of a Porsche 914 and an un-named farm tractor.

Dear Christian: If Schuco is claiming that Boley's fire trucks are their development, credit may go to Hongwell. The latter made schuco and yatming's 1/72 cars and is associated with Boley so far their HO Jeep is concerned. Too bad about SES-I did liked their range, specially the products from former Espewe. About the Magic line, someone mentioned here before that these would be plastic;later it was stated that these would be diecast.Since Promotex have these plaster cars that sell at the half of the price and are somehow well done,Herpa must give a good selection for their brand.Promotex '55 Cadillac is very well executed and there is not any models of these-four door version-in 1/87. If I am not wrong, the 1930's Mercedes Bus is a V & V model.I should check on mine.

Dear Sirs: Interesting question: does the New York toy show has HO model exibits? How long the Geneva auto show will last? Is there any american makes in there? The New York Toy Fair is much more oriented to toys; any HO models there would be incidental to a larger toy line, like Dickie-Schuco and Sieper Werke (Siku and Wiking). The HO manufacturers are more likely to participate in the National Train Show, International Hobby Expo (Chicago) and Hobby Visions (Las Vegas). The Geneva Salon runs from March 4-14. It is primarily for European market cars, though there is some participation by GM, Ford and Chrysler.

[administrator] The 'Dickie-Schuco' was changed to 'Thingyie-Schuco' in Bill's original post, caused by our censored words list. I have removed the word from the list in the meantime, I think that the messageboardmembers can be trusted not to use that word inappropriately. An advantage of this change is that anyone called Dick can now safely join the board without having to fear their name is changed to 'Thingy' everytime ;D ;D [/administrator]

A nice side effect of the Schuco - Boley "cooperation" is that the (former?) German importer is shelling out the (I suppose) remaining stock at 5 Euros a piece. I guess that's the regular retail price of Boley models in Germany now, for everything from International tractors to S&S laddertrucks, which used to be 10-20 EUR.
I had my hands full walking out of the store today. ;D
