The sedan and convertible are potentially different toolings, and especially the convertible's windshield pillars resemble Wiking's interpretation. There we are: Mine is the sedan! On another note, I have notice that a very large proportion of the Herpas that I have purchased in the US have severe (by Herpa standards) moulding imperfections. Do they send the bad ones here, as this is not an important market, or; does my supplier buy "rejects" cheaply? Or am I a paranoid nutcase? Has anyone else noticed the same?

Dear Sirs: I always thought that Pancho Villa had a Dodge and that is the reason why that make is so respected in Mexico.I was wrong at both counts. I knew all the other details.Walter Chrysler had problems acquiring the Dodge Brand and they were well involved at Ford. And I did not stated that Mercury and De Soto WERE the only ones 'artificial makes'.......... No offense was intended. You certainly know more than most people about the early history of Dodge. I have more than a passing interest in the brand. I grew up in Dodge in the 1950s. My Dad was general works superintendent for Dodge Division and I spent many Saturdays at the old Dodge Main plant in Hamtramck, Michigan and many of my toy cars were actually Dodge promotional models. In 1959, he moved to the same position at Plymouth and later to corporate headquarters as director of purchasing.

Dear Sirs: Another contender:Matchbox current F-650 truck. It is on 1/83 or so,but the details are horrendous and it is very toy-like-even more than it used to be.Also, due to any reason, their vehicles are not prototypical any longer. At least their Ford N series and Dodge Dump truck resembled the real thing;so did their pipe-carrying Leyland truck.

I just received a long-sought after Herpa Honda Accord Touring Car in plain white (two for 5 Euros, because the seller recognized me from the mo87 message board!).
I mention this in this forum, rather than the new acquisitions one, because this must by far be the worst "real" (=Dietenhofen) Herpa ever. That is, I assume that it is a German rather than a Chinese development?
The model is terrible, with lights that do not fit their openings and unexplained missing bodywork (I'll post a pic some day). I understand now why Herpa was loath to offer the model without decals.
I am still happy, since this is an unusual choice for 1/87 scale and it should be fairly easy to turn it into a respectable "street" Accord. ;D

^ Maybe Martin Fredrich should have continued making his Accord sedan ...
In case I haven't mentioned it yet, Gregs Garage's Studebaker Lark is ludicrous. Straight Anguplas copy including warpage.

^ Maybe Martin Fredrich should have continued making his Accord sedan ... I think the amount of work it will take to make a respectable 'street' Accord is about equal for the MFM kit and the Herpa racer. No, I might be exaggerating slightly.
