This is a good discussion and I wonder sometime why there is so much stupidity in this scale also. Why hasn't a 1990's Mustang been produced in HO? Are they that ugly in design where not even one manufacturer can even consider it? Even the 1980's was represented by Herpa, crude by today's standards, but still a good Mustang.
And another thing, has any manufacturer ever heard of Pontiac, Buick or Oldsmobile? How about doing some of those makes from the 1970's and 1980's. I guess Neo will get my business, because that's the only HO company out there that does NOT seem to repeat another companies models. I'm sick of duplicity, and I'd rather spend 35.00 for a quality, new HO resin model than 15.00 for a duplicate model, period.
Of course I'm talking about cars here; if RPS wants to join the fun and make some cars from the 1960's-today we'll all be better off!

Hemi,
Many Model Power vehicles have been picked up by Schuco like the El Camino, Camaro, Thunderbird, Ford pickup and Olds 442. They have even come out in different colors, which is always good. If Schuco can pick up the 2005 Ford Crown Vic and paint it in different generic police liveries, that would be great. I think there is a strong chance that most of the US cars will get picked up eventually.
Let's face it, Model Power has not released anything new in over 5 years, so this is a good thing in my opinion. I heard that they could not get financing for future products, and the end result is never good when that happens.
As soon as Schuco has these cars available for sale, I'll get a few of each.

Christian,
Thanks for that very interesting list. Doesn't Herpa have a reputation for releasing HO models at the same time the 1:1 models get revealed at auto shows, at least some of the time?
Most vehicles on that list would be interesting in HO, and of course many would be a huge hit!

I hate to ask so many questions, but isn't this new announcement supposed to be a modern car? Or should we say modern vehicle other than what Herpa normally makes (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW)?

Christian,
Thanks for the response; whatever it is, I hope it does well for Herpa and makes most of us happy.

Christian,
Do you have any idea when Herpa is going to announce this new car? I've been asking for modern Volvos for years. I'd take a new FJ Cruiser in a New York second! If it's the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, then I'll check the sky to make sure it's still there. I'll take anything at this point because it truly has become boring.

UPDATE! Herpa announces the following modern car for our North American fans! The 2013 Cadillac CTS in 2 colors: silver and black. ETA, October 2014. Price, 19.95.
Of course, I wish this would happen; I'm having a little fun here.

metall87,
Even though it's in German, it's an excellent report and I did see many items for the first time. A couple of questions for you, the Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XF are 1:76 scale, correct? If so, what a shame! Another, is Toy State a new company in HO? I saw a mining dump truck, loader, and dozer with CAT graphics. Can you elaborate on this company?
Christian, I'm sorry but I highly doubt there is a new modern car coming from Herpa. The show is over and no announcement! Wouldn't this be THE event to highlight something new? Or am I wrong? The only new car I saw is the Mercedes C-Class, which of course looks great. I would be more than happy to be wrong if it's Herpa thinking out of the box!

Christiam,
If Herpa announces an American modern automobile I won't be able to enjoy it because I'll keel over! If they announce a modern Volvo, Saab, Subaru, or Jaguar for example I might pass out, but hopefully recover! Very interesting.

The highlight at Toy Fair wasn't even there; it's RPS, and their newest Ford pickups with accessories will be released soon.
As for Toy Fair, it has seen more exciting times and when you get an Audi dealership that belongs in a museum with an asking price that only very rich collectors can afford, that's a crying shame.
Neo is always interesting, and they may have a surprise or two in the future. I wish that Neo would expand to the later 80's and 90's Cadillacs, Pontiacs, and Oldsmobiles. Then again, every Pontiac in 1/43 scale would be most welcome in HO!

If JM82 is correct or even close(approximately 500.00), that is INSANE. Is it made out of platinum? Titanium? Nice looking model, but does it have a fully detailed interior? Like I said before, it needs a fully equipped and detailed service center attached to the building, and then it still wouldn't be anywhere near the asking price.
What a shame, I could have considered it for a spot on the layout.

Christian,
Thanks for the reply; that "Terminal" looks excellent, very sleek and modern looking. In Europe, are dealerships stand alone buildings with no service center? In America, we need that less glamorous part of the building attached to the showroom! I'm almost afraid to ask, but how much would this be in US dollars approximately?
Obviously, Neo's version of the Trans Am will be excellent, but isn't this the same model year that Reel Rides chose for their TA? Well, at least we'll get new colors hopefully.

Does anybody have any info on Neo's Trans Am? What model year is it and are we going to get photos soon now that the show is over?
Also, is Herpa releasing an Audi dealership that is pre-assembled? It was named an Audi terminal, which I hope is a dealership. It looked good, and it could have potential on the layout.

I would like to see Schuco bring back the Model Power Ford Crown Vic and paint them in some modern American generic police liveries, especially black and white versions. You can have 3 black and whites, with the word "POLICE" in different colors such as black, dark blue, or red for example. I'd pay 14.00 for that easily if done right with excellent paint jobs.
At the very least, paint the Crown Vics in dark colors such as dark gray, navy blue, and maroon for detective cars.

First, excellent photos as they were very well done with good focus. Second, only Welly had vehicles that I'm going to buy. I liked that Bentley and the VW Beetle was nice too. Everything else put me to sleep.
