More news about the new models has been posted. The Brekina Opels are at German hobby shops along with the new Blitz and Transit. The "Nordic" model will be an Amazon Estate to be released in Q4 2004. I am hoping there will be a Swedish Police version, as I was able to get only one of the earlier Amazon "Polis" models The Amazon Estate was also used by the Hampshire Constabulary in England. It was the first imported car ever purchased by a British police agency. I have sent a picture of the Hampshire car to Brekina. I am waiting to see if the 1964 (not 1963) Mustang Coupe will be a new body shell or a hardtop insert for the convertible body. The Formore should come out later this year, to fill the seventh slot in my "Evolution" box set (or perhaps just to get a new set). I am fairly sure it will be a Busch model, but I don't know if it will be in their general line by the end of 2004 or available only from Smart Centers. Incidentally, the Formore will be the first real Smart model officially sold in the U.S. However, Smart fans in the U.S. should be aware the Roadster and Roadster Coupe are being sold in Mexico and some gray market importers are considering bringing them into the States, where there is great interest in the little sports car. Look for at least one more new Busch model this year.

I am a Smart fan, residing in the US. I am extremely bitter that the first Smart for sale here is going to be a SUV, which to me goes against the entire brand philosophy (listen to me, I speak like an ad-man ) I am prepared to mortgage grandma to get a grey-market roadster...

BillC,
Your comments about grey-market Smart City cars in the US helps make sense of something I saw in Santa Monica two months ago.
My wife and I rented a Smart City in Rome two years ago and we both became instant fans. Then, I saw one near my home (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) on a car dealer's lot. When I stopped to ask about it, they said that it was for demonstration purposes only at Elkhart Lake's Road America race track. Then, while at a meeting in California, I saw one on the street in Santa Monica. My wife said I was crazy, but I know a Smart Car when I see one. It must have been a grey market car from Mexico.
I also agree, what a shame to have Smart import their first car as an SUV....give us the City!
In any case, I welcome more models of the Smart, even the ForMore.
Anyone have any news on Rietze or AWM?

Mark, I thought myself that I caught a glimpse of a Smart City Coupé around here not to long ago, but after a double take, imagine my disappointment when I was faced with the Norwegian electric city car known as Th!nk. Ford distributed them in the states for a couple of years, but it is no more. Eric, do you think that Nürnberg will keep you this busy until after the doors open?

After looking at their site, Busch's wonderful new Land Cruiser seems like it won't be finished for a while. Still a great model, open to countless variations.
Toyota do Brasil built it as the "Bandeirante" for many years, with square headlights and a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine!

Dear Sirs: I gave a look at Busch's releases and almost fell out of my chair. I do not know if you remember, but me and this other member were hoping if American Precision Models would release the GMC fishbowl bus only to be informed that this manufacturer is no more.Well Busch did it,and will offer with RTD ( Los Angeles;I liked that better than the Current MTA) livery! Ford Crown Vic LAPD! They are still offering the Monaco as a cop car,and the Caravan and bikes are just unbelivable! Bravo Busch................the Land Cruiser looks good, too, and so are the Smarts.

The 2004 page has been updated again. It's a good year for 'American motorcycles' apparently, Marks announces a Fat Boy for 2004.

You are the first person to actually notice that and it has been on that page for about two weeks ! It's still a guessing game ofcourse but IF the car magazines are correct the BMW 3-series will be replaced by two different new series, the 2 and the 4-series where the 2 is the basic model (or the 4 comes with more goodies, that depends on how you want to look at it).
