Huh ... that's completely new to me. Dropping the famous 3-series name seems like a big step in an uncertain direction if you ask me.

By the way, I don’t know if you have seen it, but Busch Airstream trailer will also be available alone (that is, two of them) and in kit form in a model kit named "Trailer Park".

Dear Sirs:
I waited for a model of this bus for a while.OK,Corgi did it in 1/50 (I have the Santa Monica version) and there is a crude, interiorless version of it out of resin in 1/87 scale and the Pirate one,but this from Busch IS the real thing.I barely can wait until its release.
One more thing:I doubt LAPD will use the Smart as a cop car.

Dear Nick About APM....do you mean really that this manufacturer has stopped its production? ....I have only one model (GMC bus -Orange/Cream) that I bought directly from US with Walther e-shop about 4 years ago! ..at this time I expected to get an other bus from APM (Aerococh ..if I remember) but it was not available at Walther's at the moment! ... How could I do now to get 2 models of this? .. were there other bus from APM ? I like very much this manufacturer.

Dear JeanMarc:
Christian informed me and this other member that APM is out of business.I liked their buses;yet,in a review from this magazine,I read that the rear slope of the GMC bus was not correct, but it trully looked fine for me;their Flexble was also great.Rumor had that they would release a GMC highway bus (a PD series)-not in 1.87,apparently- but that never came out.It is truly a shame.
On the other hand,I am glad the Busch is offering this bus;one can put togheter with the APM ones

Also on the BMW 4-series (if we write anymore about it we'll have to start a new thread The number "four" signifies death in Chinese numerology, and is as such considered extremely unlucky in the far east. I am certain that Olivier can testify to this. As an example, the Alfa 164 was renamed the "168" for many Asian markets. I was also intrigued to read about the 1950 Buick on the Busch newsletter - is this an existing model that I just didn't know about, or is it a new mold?

The Smart City Coupe has been in the U.S. for at least a few years. Pop star Michael Jackson has four, TV talk show host Sally Jesse Raphael has one and there are some others. The Busch Smart City Coupe in LAPD colors is not based on a real police car. In fact, it was actually built by Johan and Karin Weigman in Holland. www.politievoertuigengroep.nl/smart-eng.htmYou will even see the "bullet holes" Busch mentioned in its press release. There is a lot of interest in small cars in the U.S. at the moment. DaimlerChrysler may yet decide to sell at least the Forfour and possibly the Roadster in addition to the Formore. Busch will not make the 1998 or newer Crown Victoria. They were quite unhappy when Walthers produced a model of the car. I have talked to them about the possibility of a Chevrolet Impala, which is seeing a considerable amount of use by American police agencies. Another possibility is the Chevrolet Lumina, which is now discontinued. The Dodge Intrepid police package introduced in 2002 did not sell very well after it was discovered the brakes could catch on fire in pursuit conditions. I would very much like to see a high-quality Volvo V70 sedan. This car was used by the California Highway Patrol, Arizona Department of Public Safety and was at least tested by Oklahoma Highway Patrol. It was also purchased by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and several other Canadian metropolitan law enforcement agencies. The only reason there aren't more Volvo police cars in the U.S. is that Ford discontinued the Volvo police car program! Apparently it either threatened the sales of the Crown Victoria or it ran counter to the luxury image Ford wants Volvo to have. Incidentally, the South Carolina Highway Patrol leases a small number of BMW 5ers for traffic enforcement and the Georgia State Patrol had some 3ers a while back. The new Busch travel trailer is an Airstream and the motorcycle is a Harley-Davidson. Trademark issues prevented Busch from using their real names.

Dear BillC:
Regarding the Vic,probably is me,but it seems that Walthers dropped it;and their product is not that good (see road test).I still think that Busch would have a winner if they model it.
In the modelling industry, the patent issue is the reason why interesting models are not being done. The Airstream and the Harleys look fantastic pure and simple, and Busch is at Brekina's level in terms of model releases.

As an example, the Alfa 164 was renamed the "168" for many Asian markets. I confirm. Actually, 'four' sounds like 'death'. So they consider it unlucky. No 4th floor in buildings. No number 4 on carparks... Conclusion: The smart Forfour is not welcome here.

Hi, I just read some new information: The new Mercedes SLK will be produced by Herpa (colours: silver, black, red). The Citroens (C2 and Pluriel) from Norev seem to be more than a rumour. A dealer told me, that he saw them in a new Norev-catalogue. I hope, it´s true.
