Cor, I have tried that, but somehow I just can't get the curved windows right.. Additional workbench stuff: Chassis from the parts-box, shortened Lima Fiat cab and Roskopf body. AWM tractor, Herpa trailer from the extra shop with the opened plastic tarp replaced by aluminium foil and the tarp fasteners made from strips of decal. The wooden cases came from a Brekina model found at a swapmeet. Comments welcome as always..

Very nice this opened trailer!
It's very well done for the first time. Especially the fasteners.
Also the material choise for the tarp!

Wow, super look to the open curtain side. Very clever and well done too. An exceptional model all around as well.

I too am beginning to think of ways to use the Furuta wheels, but that's the best idea so far. Hope you don't mind if I steal your idea for something similar of my own.

Work's been seriously in the way the past months but here is a new model in progress... It is a 'Golden Wheels' die-cast Ford F6 cab with Wiking stakebed on a modified Roskopf chassis with Preiser wheels. Nearly finished, just missing wipers, mirrors and a bit of chrome trim on the hood. Comments welcome as always !

Great transformation. You have a very realistic look to the tarped load and the chain is a nice touch. I'm so glad to see you did something to those headlamps.

The original headlamps were awful, just blobs of chromed plastic. I used the method you described in the 'subtle changes' page on the main site to correct that ;D

Straight from the workbench and still very much in progress... Peter's excellent Lancia Esagamma cab on a rebuilt Roco chassis. Lousy picture though, artificial lighting doesn't really help Comments welcome as always !

Nice! I haven't even come around to build one myself. Looks pretty good and I like the colors. I would change the wheels to Trilex spokes though, never seen one with simple steel wheels. But then again everything's possible with trucks. Will you add some lettering or keep it all basic?

Great build, Eric. It looks very Italian, very fitting combination for the Lancia.

Peter,
the model does need Trilex rims, I agree. I am still looking for Trilex rims that actually look like the real thing though.. The old Herpa ones are lousy, and I have not been able to find a set of Weinert rims yet (although I fear these might be too big.) Other suggestions are welcome !
The model will (eventually) get some lettering, but it wil be very basic. In the pictures of period Italian trucks I've found in the book 'Profumo di Nafta' there is either no lettering or it is very basic.

Eric, Nice Lancia truck. Maybe old Roskopf wheels would fit? JanS
