This, part of the old mill dio, a guy having trouble with his team. My dilemma is that I want to do some harness work and don't want to use wire or thread but want the look of a leather strap. Any good suggestions? Also, you can't see them but there are burlap bags in the bed of the wagon and I need a good color but can't seem to find anything that looks real. Figure and horses still need to be dull coated. pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/stryper50/detail?.dir=d798&.dnm=16b1re2.jpg&.src=ph

Chester, Great looking horse and wagon. Burlap is a tough one. My best effort has been Floquil Earth with Floquil Rail Brown dry brushed over the top. Any other ideas?

Chester, for the harness you could try small strips cut from masking tape. Tamya's masking tape even has a nice texture that might come in handy Eric

Chester,
Take a trip to a sewing supply shop or the fabric department at Wal-Mart. Look in the trims area and see if you can't find something that will work.

Chester, I tried a dental tape (not silk). Have a look in your local drugstore. Normally its white, but it will be easy paint it like leather. And the form is alright. nick ingmar Very nice dio....

Thanks Nick, dental floss, never thought of that. We'll see how it reacts to glue and paint. I think I'm going to have to mount this on a mini-base of it's own to somehow keep it all together.

Be sure to get the uncoated type, otherwise it will be very tough to paint or glue.

I don't think "dental tape" is the same as "dental floss". I am not sure exactly what it is, but maybe your local pharmacist will.

Hello again, Hakan is right: silk, floss and tape is all for the same use, but in different materials. Silk and floss normally are round, the floss is much bigger. The tape is some kind of plastic, very fine but about 1mm in width. Like the real leather normally isn´t round even. Not sure if there are waxed types or other, but look for the non coloured, non waxed, without fluor and taste. Hope it works. Best regards nick ingmar

Evergreen makes a 14" long strip that is .010 x .020. A little bit big but easy to work with.
I like your rigging on the wrecker. I have been looking for pictures on how they were rigged.

A bit of a daunting challenge but a half-decent start on one of my favorite vehicles, the Mack F series chain drive. I can't tell the difference between the FH and the FK. The fenders are giving me a headache but here's what it looks like so far. new.photos.yahoo.com/stryper50/photo/294928803902456466/0
