Chester, you are really going to have to do a how-to painting and weathering on-line workshop for us. Your work is absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks Lee, I'll think about the tutorial. It's a very complicated subject actually since there are so many different surfaces that weather in completely different ways. Well I've made some progress in that the crane is complete and the boat is about 95% with the rigging done as much as I want to. I've done a few vehicles like the Roco Zis 5 and a 35 Ford resin copy of the old Mtn. States piece and a Jordan Model T. I've started some structures but haven't really photographed them well yet. And there's a lot of foliage and ground cover to do but here's what I've got so far. public.fotki.com/stryper50/187_scale_dioramas/shrimp_cutter/I need to add some more figures and at least one other vehicle. I'd really like this to be a buzz of activity like a human ant hill.

Chester, Lee is right! I would like to read some of your suggestions of your fabulous weathering. Maybe a few words sometimes, so completing the chapter after a while. Long time there is nothing new in "how to do".
What would be a perfect model? A Cutters model painted by Sylvain and weathered by Chester in a diorama of..... Okay there could be lot of other members names, but only dreaming..... nick ingmar
Ahhhh the last project: A#1

Another small diorama this time. A slightly modified RDA structure of an abandoned repair and used truck sales shop. Still much to do in the way of adding vehicles and details and the groundwork is only just begun. The Chevy is a painted Busch. There's a Wiking camper going on it for sure but I don't know what else yet. public.fotki.com/stryper50/187_scale_dioramas/abandoned/

Chester, What a wealth of detail already. I especially like the peeling "No Trespassing" sign and the weathering on the Chevy with mismatched panels, removed signage, and textured rust.
Bravo!

You best look quick if you want to see another great job.

Fine work, Chester, as always. I must say I really admire the way you photograph your dioramas. The way you use real backgrounds is always perfect, and add a lot to these already so realistic dioramas. Great, great work!

Chester, Your mill is another great model and I especially enjoy the variety of building materials and surfaces modeled. Have you given thought to animating the water wheel?
