Dear Sirs:
There is a couple of additions to the extensive range of non-HO manufacturers: Tonkin, who manufactures trucks in 1/87. The trucks will be the Volvo and Freightliner. Jue, the Brazilian construction manufacturer, also did offered a CAT vehicle in 1/87 scale.

Dear Sirs:
On the following threads, I will add the vehicles that are from the no-HO vehicle manufacturers. As it will possible, the reference number and year of release will be added.
Dear Eric:
This is what I promised that I would do. These are good candidates for the 1/87 site.
AB or Joy Toy from Greece built vehicles in 1/87, as stated on the site; also there were cars in circa 1/36 scale such as the Porsche 1500 ( plastic;red color) or 1/64 .such as the Karmann-Ghia Coupe ( blue;no interior, plastic). The Mercedes Bus in 1/87 scale was done in several liveries besides the ones that appear at the site, and these are reported below (all have air-conditioner detail). reference #/ description/ release year
167101 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Reisenburo Rominger 1979 167102 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway Bus Reisenburo Sippel 1979 167103 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Alpenwogel Sonthofen 1979 167104 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Komm mit Touristik 1979 167105 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Deutsches Reiseburo 1979 167106 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Kreissparkasse GroB-Gerau 1979 167107 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus GroB-Gerau Volks Bank 1979 167108 Mercedes Benz O302 highway bus Sag Jahn zum Ur LauB 1979 167109 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Deutsche Bundespost 1979 167110 Mercedes-Benz 0302 highway bus Deutsche Rotes Kreuz 1979 167111 Mercedes-Benz 0302 highway bus Deutsche Bundepost 1979 167112 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Mannschaftbus Polizei 1979 167113 Mercedes-Benz O302 highway bus Hemminger Bier 1979 167114 Mercedes-Benz O302 Airport Bus SAS (Scandinavian Airways) 1979 167115 Mercedes-Benz O302 Airport Bus AUA (Austrian Airways) 1979 167116 Mercedes-Benz 0302 Airport Bus Sabena (Belgian Airways) 1979 167117 Mercedes-Benz O302 Airport Bus Alitalia 1979 167118 Mercedes-Benz O302 Airport Bus British Airways 1979 167119 Mercedes-Benz O302 postal Bus Schweizer Post PTT 1979
On the next threads, more models will be covered and these do not appear at the 1/87 info.
Thank you, Nick K

Dear Sirs:
Cox was a manufacturer of remote control or gasoline-powered controled vehicles;one of the few AMC Matadors sedan was reproduced by them (large scale). By the late 1970's they had a fling with railroad models and vehicles for this affair were molded. Below, some of the models that turned up:
6222 Peterbilt tractor with flatbed trailer 6231 Peterbilt tractor with van trailer 'Another load of Cox Flying Models'
The tractor is very well detailed including fog lights and transmission shaft. Built in plastic.
Also the following vehicles are pictured at the truck's boxes:
Road grader Military tank
I am pretty sure that there is more.Their rail equipment included locos, cars and acessories.

Dear Sirs: Since Cox vehicles were intended for their rail systems, some of their vehicles will be offered with a rail vehicle. This is the case of their road grader, number 6150,which was offered togheter with a flat rail car (see below): cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5901861578&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&rd=1 I am looking for the sheet that ilustrates the New-Ray (crude) 1/87 cars. More details at the next post. And yes,I am bidding for the road grader, and when I will be able to afford it, I will go for the gas-powered Matador (between $40.00 and 100.00)

Dear Sirs:
If I am not mistaken (it happened before) the first vehicles that had the New Ray logo were a cheap line of 'monster truck' type cars and 4 x 4 that were avaliable where toys are sold, and that included a 1956 Chevrolet ( mostly 1/64 scale); these appeared by the early 1990's.
By 1995, this company introduced a series of 'dioramas' -if you will, because I can not think of another word - that included a little car, close to 1/87 scale. As an example, the so discussed Mazda 4-door pick-up came with a package that offered a reproduction of a boulder and other acessories; the other vehicles were sold with the proper 'acessories'. The cars are crude, and the wheels are horrendous, but at all,at least four of them were never reproduced in 1/87 (see the notes at the listings). These cars are not avaliable any longer,so one must hunt for them. New Ray concentrates on 1/43 scale cars (and these are used as 'train cars' for known rail manufacturers) 1/32 -and these are very nice- and other lines of toys and vehicles, such as (very large) motorcycles.
The car sets had a little sheet that displayed their vehicles and acessories, and these were called the 'miniselects scale miniatures'; no numbers are listed on the sheet or the cars (on the car chassi is written: 'New Ray 1995' and of course, 'Made in China').
The HO cars would be:
Mercedes-Benz 4-door sedan Taxi;1990's Mercedes-Benz 'G' type SUV Mercedes-Benz 'Binz' ambulance,1990's- painted red Jaguar XJ 220- unique to 1/87 Mazda 'B' series crew-cab pick-up-unique to 1/87 BMW 850 coupe Volkswagen T4-white and it is an ambulance Volkswagen Golf 4-door,1990's Range Rover 4-door 'Police' white,with a blue stripe;unique to 1/87 Porsche 911 1990's Ferrarri Testarossa Lamborghini Diablo - I am not sure,but did someone else offered a Diablo in 1/87?
At Toys R US, a train set from this manufacturer was also offered. It was like the sets that one knows, but the trains were not powered, and another unique vehicle was part of this set: The Jeep Dakar show SUV,perhaps the most difficult piece to find from this series. I did not saw this set for a good while.
Trucks were molded as well, and that includes the few models that I know of the Renault Magnum cabover truck; a Mercedes-Benz 'O' series bus and a scholl bus are also part of their commercial series, and these feature a little motor. One problem: these trucks and buses are around 1/80 or 1/82 scale. Too bad. To my eyes, the Renault and the Mercedes-Benz coach looks good.
I did not saw any of the above vehicles for a while now, and I will see if I find the Jeep Dakar at eBay; hence,I can post its picture.

Nick,
as far as I know at least three manufacturers made the Diablo, both Miber and Herpa offered the Diablo in plastic and the Diablo was also made by Bburago (keychain, metal).

I wanted to post this under 'police cars' but realised the subject was under the topic the 'real thing'. Many of you already are familiar with JES models from Sweden. I have had some trouble in the past getting through to them but have been informed that things are up and running again and will try soon to place an order. Check out some of his newer offerings: hem.bredband.net/b113915/one/jes.htm

Dear Sirs:
The chinese toys- at times,models- were made by several manufacturing outlets and no names were used; hence,a big majority will go under the generic brand. Some early markings were either SS or Summer; the former is still around. Then, major manufacturers such as Matchbox,Minichamps,Playing Mantis et al did the contracts with the factories, it was specified what it is to be done and even today this is,with few exceptions, the way it goes.
By the 1990's, some of the brands now came with names: Kinsmart,Smart Toys,High Speed,New Ray and so on. Hongwell is the most known, due to its several associations be it on the model or toy field.
Boley is another manufacturer that has vehicles from others. Their Caprices are from Kinsmart- which, incidentally, it was the only HO model they did,and it comes close to the Busch one. Hongwell supplied them with the Willys Jeep and the 1/72 scale GMC pick-up that will debut in 2004. I learned that its Volkswagen- one of their first HO offerings were -apparently - made by Smart toys. I wonder if the Chevy 3100 pick-up,Plymouth Fury and Mitsubishi Montero were made by them too,but these seem copies from another manufacturers. These were the first Boley in 1/87 and way before their International and the current GMCs.
The first Smart Toys I went across was the circa 1/36 scale new Bettle; I also have a Fiat 500,at the same scale made by them and this is it.
One of the members from MVU discovered some of the HO's made by Smart Toys.It is an American conventional tractor ( it can be everything from Pet-Ken-Freight) with a heavy type flatbed trailer with two construction vehicles- a crane and a roller- aboard. There are acessories as well as construction workers, road signs, rocks and barrels plus a couple of pallets.
Hence: 20644 set with American tractor,heavy-duty flabed trailer plus 2 construction vehicles and acessories 20664 set with big Dump truck,Unimog plus acessories And on the packaging I saw a picture of a MAN diesel tractor with heavy duty flatbed trailer with a Chevy 3100 pick-up ( now I know where the Boley's version comes from) and a loader plus acessories
Boley also did came with a Oshkosh? military tractor with a flatbed trailer; I suppose that these may be from Smart Toys as well; their tanks may came from the same source. That I do not know.
I recently found another product from Smart Toys and that was a circa 1/76 Fire vehicle; there were others, but nothing close to 1/87 scale.
