Sure you are not Joe signed in with the wrong screen name? ;D I dont think I am, but he has been an excellent source of models. In Cuba, people rarely got the flashy versions; most cars were company cars for Americans working for various fruit companies, AT&T, or whathaveyou. Companies rarely have their employees driving convertibles.

Dear Sirs: This is an interesting mix because when this was a TV show, the cop cars were either Matadors, Monacos or Furys. Now, these are Crown Vics, albeit I spotted a square body anything at the movie's previews. Of course,I am talking of 'The Dukes of Hazzard' movie. One thing stood the same: the 1960's Dodge Charger. I do not know much of the plot of the movie but I already know the formula: lots of the Charger's jumping and police car smashing. Still an interesting concept, however. Never been much a fan of the TV show because of the excessive car destroying and watery plots. (Accordingly, 40 CHP cars per episode were destroyed; hence this show rates very low with me at times). Batman Returns has the new Batmobile and that looks like an armored vehicle on steroids. Corgi and Playart made the vehicles from the TV show; ERTL and Hasbro offered the ones from the movies;Mattel is the one who made a large remote-control replica from the current movie; I am waiting for something smaller. Alas, Corgi has a full line-up of Batmobile type vehicles some of which were unheard of. There were models from the cars that appeared at the animated version as well, but I am not sure who was the manufacturer. I fancy the replica of the Cord? type sedan that belonged to Bruce Wayne at the animated series. If you want a Batman car at (or close to) 87th scale, I recommend the set of Ferrero 'Batman-like' cars. I bought mine from a seller called 'jens muller' or something similar. Have a try. "Thunder Road", Early Robt. Mitchum, about a Korean War vet that comes home and enters the world of moonshining. Great vehicles like the '40 Ford and the story basically revolves around the cars. In fact, it was refreshing to see the cars take the forefront of the storyline.

Hi all: For a real mix of old iron watch the original DOA with Edmund Obrien [1949 or so]. San Francisco streets form much of the back ground with old streetcars, trolleybuses, and motor buses abounding. Plenty of neat old cars too. You can find decent versions of this in the $ stores.
And, as most know by now, I am somewhat partial to trolleybuses and they best, by far, movie with trolleybuses in it is French Connection II. With superman Gene Hackman on foot chasing the French villian who rides in style in a trolleybus down to the wharf. Lots of arty shots of overhead and poles and lots of buses at the termainal.
But for chases I like the one in BULLET best, featuring the 1967 big block Mustang chasing the huge Dodge Charger. What impressed me here was the sound is acutally synchronized to the video. When he double clutches and shifts gears you can see the car squat and the exhaust spit smoke briefly. Most chases are generic squealing of tires and motor sounds that have no match to the action. I did count the big dodge losing 5 hubcaps in the chase too as I recall.

Hey Chester,
That is a cool site with plenty of car junkies as well. My favorite chase scene from Ronin featuring the BMW M5 & Peugeot 406 although Bullitt is a favorite too.

Dear All:
Just came back from watching Casino Royale.Since I do not spoil for the others,I will state which vehicles were present here:
The Aston Martin is a giveaway, not even needed to mention. But they were a tad different and I will not say how.
Now I know why Matchbox did the new Land Rover 110.Range Rovers as well.
Ford Products galor, inclunding a Focus,Crown Vics,Expedition,Explorer,Lincoln Town Car.A Cadillac sedan can be seen in a lot!!!
Mack Trucks,Airport Equipment including an Artic Bus and an IH Tanker were the heavies.
A Lexus can be seen, along with a host of European Vehicles, including Skoda Police Cars.
That one appeared on 'Tomorrow Never Dies' and made a guest appearence here:Daimler Limo.I can not tell which body it has.
And finally a good host of Jaguar Sedans.
It was a good movie. It earned $40 million at its first weekend.

You're right Joe, great cars in that one. Funny movie too. I don't remember ever seeing the Power Wagon with the square bed before or if I did, didn't notice it.

Dear Chester: The Power Wagon has a good appearence at this movie (i.e.,takes several scenes on the movie). A fire truck (rather, two) also appear at this movie. So does a Greyhound Bus. Nick K
