Mark,
Sorry. I know this shop and went there only a few days ago, and they do not seem to have them any more in stock. As I’ve said in my last post, I’m afraid Norev’s C2 and C3 will be difficult to find. I won’t explain here the all story, but I’ve just bought some for Christian, and to my surprise, it was rather difficult. Norev’s C2 and C3 Pluriel seem to have vanished.
Anyway I’ll be glad to help, I think I know now where and what I could find in Paris ;D . I could look for them for you if you want. Send me a message if you’re interested.

I’ve been told that these C2 and C3 Pluriel were manufactured by Rietze for Norev. If it’s true, no wonder Norev’s C3 and Rietze’s C3 have so much in common! I don't have a Norev C3 (yet) so I can't compare.. . Does anyone know the size of the Norev C3 wheels ? Are they the same size as the Rietze C3 wheels ?

Marc,
I have the C2, and those rims are bigger indeed. As I said, I do not have the Norev C3 so I couldn't compare those wheels but I find it hard to believe that Rietze would develop new wheels instead of using the C3 wheels already available (if Rietze does indeed make the C2 and C3 for Norev that is).

Eric,
Norev's C3 Pluriel has totally different wheels from Rietze's C3, which is why I thought you were referring to the C2's rims. Incidentally, Norev uses most similar (albeit prototypically incorrect: bigger) rims on their C2 as Rietze has modeled for the C3.
I, too, find it hard too believe Rietze was involved in the new Norev models' development. The overall impression (you would call it 'handwriting' in German) of Norev's models is far away from Rietze's. Rietze's wheels always tend to the small side while Norev's are quite big, and there are other details that make me think these are two different pairs of boots.
By the way, when I talked about the new Norev Citroens with Rietze at Toy Fair, I learned that Rietze was interested in distributing the models in Germany.

Marc, since Rietze already has the Norev Kangoo in their program, adding these two Citroën models sounds like a logical choice. Add the C5 (if and when it appears) and Rietze is close to having a nice series of Citroën models in their program. Eric

Did you see it on the internet ? If yes, could you please post the link, I'd like to see that model (and I am not the only one I guess...) The 2cv with the coffee-pot trailer: www.tacot.com/affiche.php?photo=40110.jpg

Looks quite good, still wondering if that coffeepot is resin or plastic though...

I had a chat with a local hobby-shop's owner about Norev's Citroen C2 and C3 Pluriel the other day. I was told Norev finally announced the models for early July, which he read as late July or early August. According to the information Norev gave, the first models that appeared on eBay and at various swap meets were a batch of test-shot models, about 120 items only. The tooling was slightly improved afterwards, which caused the additional delay. I certainly hope to receive my Norevs in about six weeks.

Marc: How do the Citroen promotional models fit into this? I understand that those have been available at least in France, together with some "regular retail" models as Sylvain confirms. Hardly only samples.

Yes, that's what I was wondering too… The models I've found here in France are really not samples.

How do the Citroen promotional models fit into this? Good point. However, I was not talking about samples, but a kind of pre-serial production, similar to the Opel Vectra Rietze made for their 20th anniversary last year. The retail version differed from the model available in Altdorf in minor aspects only, but the tooling was certainly reworked after the first few hundred models had been made. Perhaps the number Norev gave are the models that did not come in promotional packaging - my C2, for example, features a green Norev box. Marc

Re C2 and C3 Pluriel: I just received a call that the ca. 20 Norev Citroens I had placed orders for have arrived at Andreas Bunte's not-so-local hobby shop ( www.miniauto.net). I hope to pick them up next week and will let you know if I can spot a difference to the black C2 I already have. Marc (so happy to finally get his Citroens)
