Ondine and Dauphine were two very similar cars. So were Caravelle and Floride, and Ariane and Versailles. The body used were the same, only the extras and engines were different. I don’t think Norev never really manufactured different models in each case, but I may be wrong.
The Ariane/Versailles would be interesting, as these cars were available in different good looking two colours combinations. One other model I would like to see is the R4 in "La Parisienne" version (dark green or black with ornamental panels on the sides): my parents’ second car in the 70’s. My mother always says it’s the best car she ever owned. Let’s hope one day…

When was released the Kangoo? 19xx?? Albert, If memory does not fail me, the hard-to-find promotional model for Deutsche Post was introduced at the 2000 Nuremberg Toy Fair. I do not know when it was released, though. The regular-release model (in blue) first appeared in 2001. Hope that helps. Marc

Thanks Marc, you are right. I have checked my list of cars and have seen I bought the Kangoo in 2001.

The promo was the first version that came on the market, it was released in 2001. The 'normal' versions came shortly after that.

Just found on Mafma.com announcement of 3 new Norev’s models, at least new versions of the re-issued models. Should be available in May or June
517350: Renault Estafette in "Gendarmerie’ livery (dark blue) 513102: Renault Caravelle in "Butagaz" livery 151482: Citroën 2CV in "Berger" livery, with a trailer shaped as a coffee-pot (similar to the 1/43 model I suppose).

I’ve seen a picture of the Norev’s 2CV in Berger delivery, with the coffee- pot trailer. Nice. Just what I thought, similar to the 1/43 model.

Did you see it on the internet? No, sorry, only in a model railroad magazine, that I haven’t bought. But if you want to see what it looks like, just have a look at Norev’s website, the similar 1/43 model is on the front page.

just have a look at Norev’s website, the similar 1/43 model is on the front page. I just had a look, and think it looks very nice. I am wondering if Norev will make the coffeepot from plastic or resin for this version though. I can't imagine that they can issue a lot of versions of this trailer so I guess it might be resin. The model did remind me of another model by the way (released by Rietze), a Ford Transit in 'Knorr' livery with a soupbowl on a trailer.

Some further information to the news from Sylvain: You can get these Renault models from Norev at your Renault dealer (normally he has to order them). These are the ordering numbers (France or Germany it´s the same): R8 Gordini Monte Carlo 77 11 223 545 (it´s a nice model with additional lights at the front) Dauphine Gordini 1962 77 11 223 541 Estafette Secours Routiers 1961 77 11 225 834 And there is a very nice Renault service car (in the actual design): R4 (Fourgonette) Renault Service 1963 77 11 224 094 The prices are 7,99 Euro in France and 9,90 Euro in Germany. The model of the Megane Cabriolet/Coupé Sylvain spoke of in an earlier message has the order number 77 11 223 678. It´s to order via Internet only for french customers, but with some luck a Renault dealer in Germany will get some. I´ve got it without problems at a dealer in Düsseldorf. (But 17 Euros are a high price for it!) And you must be aware of: you get two resin-bodies(one coupé-body and one cabriolet-body) in metallic red, and it´s a bit difficult to work on them, because the material is quite thick. I´m trying in the moment to make models with these bodies and I hope the investition will be worth it.

Some news about "Norev’s rebirth" and especially about the C2 and C3 Pluriel. First, a surprise: looking for these models, I’ve found out that, if they were available in many car or trains model shops here in Paris (and I suppose in France), as the other Norev’s 1/87th models, they are already today very difficult to find, only one month after their release. Reason: this models seem to have been produced at 5000 units, and many shops (at least the shops I’ve been in) have only received very few units, even when they have ordered a rather large amount of cars (for example, one shop I know has ordered 40 models and have only received…12 models!). The problem is that Norev do not seem to know when and if they will be able to deliver them again. So if these models interest you, get one as soon as possible. Second: I’ve been told that these C2 and C3 Pluriel were manufactured by Rietze for Norev. If it’s true, no wonder Norev’s C3 and Rietze’s C3 have so much in common! Third: in every shop I’ve been told that these new Norev’s models in 1/87th scale are a real success here in France. The new releases of the old models have been sold very quickly (that’s why some models are no more available like the Aronde or the Dauphine) and everyone is asking for new models. I’ve even been told that beside the new cars announced, Norev will release some figures on HO scale (and that is true, some can already be found with some HO scale building kits). But looking at this strange business with the C2 and C3, I wonder what to think of it.

Sylvain,
Do you have any suggestions for an American trying to buy the C2 and C3 Pluriel? I have contacted La Boutique Auto-Moto (bam) but have received no confirmation.
Mark
