. I am going to start a serious programme of meditating, focussing every fibre in my body upon the Facel Vega. We'll see what happens. And hats off to Brekina for their ability to constantly surprise and delight. Dear All: If goes like that, I may want to do that in order to see if a Dodge Diplomat ir Olds Vista Cruiser shows up. The latter may have a chance, but I will not say why here. I already made a list of models I want and sent it to Jack. I will have most of them soon.

It's a pity that Herpa do that mainly in the Magic series, witch are qulitative less as the normal Herpa's. Lucky they did the Volvo, Moskvits and Volga in the normal serie. The BMW 700 is done by Herpa Magic! The BMW 700 will not be a Magic model. As these posts bear material for misunderstandings, I would like to clear up a few things. There are three lines of older models within the Herpa range: fourteen Magic models, two Semi-Magics and eight high-quality "Youngtimers" including the recent announcements. Magic:Alfasud Ti Audi 60 sedan Audi 60 Variant Audi 100 L sedan Auto-Union 1000 Sp coupé DKW Junior Ford Taunus P5 Mercedes 230 SL roadster NSU TT Opel Rekord A Caravan Porsche 356 C coupé Renault R16 VW 411 Variant VW-Porsche 914 Semi-MagicVW Karmann Ghia (type 34) Ford Taunus Mk1 coupé YoungtimersBMW 2000 tii touring Fiat X1/9 Volvo P1800ES Wolga M21 Moskwitsch 403 BMW 700 Sport Audi 100 coupé Porsche 911 targa (1965-1968) The last three models are due to be released in July or August. They will be a real, outright Herpa models, promised to be on par with last year's "Youngtimers" and far better than even the newest Magics. What I call Semi-Magics are models offered for the price of a regular Herpa model, but with tooling reminding of the simple Magic efforts. The wheels are better, and the models are painted and decorated, making them stand out from the Magic crowd. They only consist of few pieces, with decorations instead of separate parts - which is a different approach from the very nice "Youngtimers". Marc S.

How this topic has turned into a discussion on Herpa models I don't know, but Marc 'forgot' to mention that Herpa did do some older models before the Magics and the youngtimers he mentioned: Ford Escort Mk.1 Ford Escort RS, VW Beetle '69 , Porsche 911, Renault-Alpine A110, BMW 502, BMW 1602, Fiat 124 Spider, Ford Taunus 17M 'Badewanne', MB 280 SL Cabrio, Porsche 356B Cabriolet. All quite simple but good looking models and still in the catalogue. Jan S.

Hello: I think it is time for another old MB from Brekina as their last MB model they made dates back to 1999. The late sixties MB 280S would be one of their choices I believe. Maybe some of you guys know better??

Marc S.,
Hi Marc. Just reading the new headline on mo87.de about Brekina, could you advise a little. You know my German is nowhere near as good as your English. I got the impression that Brekina were planning a big push on PKW models in 1/87 scale in 2008 - is this right ? And does that mean more new models or more variations of what was already announced ?
Your help/advice would be much appreciated.
Hope you are well, Gary

Hello: I am also curious to know what the article says? any news about the Peugeot 504?? regards It reads:- Our novelty preview 2008 grows almost day for day, and still the play goods fair is three weeks distant. Brekina communicated now the slogan, under which one intends to place the year 2008: Passenger car offensive! The Ford Taunus 12m G13 in February, which we could already present before Christmas in detail, makes the beginning. Subsequently, month for month a passenger car form novelty is to follow, among them two to three Drummer models, the remainder genuine Brekina miniatures. Is secured beside the Ford the g-model Porsche 911; apart from German models models from France, Italy and Great Britain are to be converted, Strassenkoeter such as Exoten. We will report details the at the beginning of the play goods fair - then the veil is to be ventilated over all of these passenger car projects.

Here you go:
Brekina announced a major push in 1/87th scale passenger cars for 2008: Starting with February's Ford 12m G13, they plan to introduce one entirely new passenger car model each and every month until year's end (or probably next Toy Fair). Apart from the Ford, only the 1976 Porsche 911 (internally called G-series) was confirmed. Prototypes will be German, French, Italian, and British, both plain-vanilla cars and rarer beasts.
All models will be all-new tooling, two or three of them to be offered under the simpler Drummer brand, the rest outright Brekinas. (Brekina also commented on the Drummer models' quality, explaining that the worst -Opel Kadett A- was the first development, while the model that hit the market first -Fiat 1100, which happens to be the best Drummer to date- was the latest item to be designed. 2008 models will meat, or beat, the Millecento's standards.)
I cannot comment on particular prototypes, only that the Saab 95 wagon will *not* be among the 2008 new items.
EDIT: Not quick enough, me!

Ha, ha!! Other than Ricko and Masterpiece, a mainstream manufacturer is going to offer a great variety of passenger cars in 2008. We will have a prosperous year with so much good news just at the beginning of the year.
Looking foward to the announcement of new releases. Hopeing there will be surprises too.

Dear Marc, Lynn and all,
Thank you very much for your help, what it is to be bilingual (could I count English and American languages for me ?)!
Great news indeed and looks like the better quality Drummer models will enhance this brand even further - as if it needed it. Now perhaps we can all speculate on the Italian, French (more than the Peugeot 504 (and break)) and British cars to follow ??
Thanks again, Gary
