The retailer price mentionned by all these brands is 3.98 USD. I believe there is no need to pay more. Here we can get them in shops for 2.5 USD. I bought 5... I just couldn't resist.

I also find the wooden bed an interesting and original add-on such as Lee's woody station wagons. Nick, That is Jerry's woody station wagon. I am just the messenger and had nothing to do with it's creation.

Dear Sirs: Some threads above,I was going in circles trying to figure which 1/87 vehicles were made by Hongwell and High Speed. No more problems: -- Hongwell have a range o Mercedes trucks which are molded as fire, van and truck and trailers plus a selection of Mercedes SL cars; -- High Speed makes the vehicles that appear at Model Power and Shuco,as it was stated before. The 1/87 cars from Hogwell can be seen at their site; now, High Speed products can be viewed (it is a very slow-loading one, however; perhaps is my computer) at www.highspeed.com.hk. I already have some of the Model Powers; I will add some of the Schucos and High Speeds next. Not right of the way, though.

Dear Sirs: For a while, I wanted a miniature in 1/87 of a NABI bus (NABI = North American Bus Industries).A couple of weeks ago I learned about LACMTA's (Los Angeles Transit Operator)store and today I check it out. They have it, is made out of foam but one can tell that is a NABI;after the proper painting and detailing it will look great. The measurements are from an 1/87 scale bus: six inches long.an inch and a quarter high; two types avaliable: Rapid and Local buses. I definitevely will get one. Another NABI model do exist: Santa Monica Municipal Bus Lines Livery. 1/50 scale, impossible to find and it is a one-piece item, but that one was a plastic item (the glazing is part of the plastic body). See the link below for the LACMTA item: www17.serrahost.com/servlet/lacometrocom/Detail?category=Children&no=33&searchpath=4211920a1056d204cb214

Dear Sirs:
Went to a swap meet today and as I saw it,it was mine: A White 3000 Tanker with Shell liveries from Hot Wheels. It is not a 'basement' model. Plenty of details,be it the wheels, roof lightning and more. I did not put it close to the CMW's model yet, but, overall, the HW miniature looks to be around 1/87 or 1/82.No mirror or windshield detail, but there are 'White' markings at its front. One and a half cab model. The Wheels also have the right, silver rims.Nice item overall, so far a diecast item goes.

Dear Sirs: Another discovery from eBay and hope that the seller from the articles below is right. I know Guiloy from Spain. Mostly toys and if I remember well, they also did some motorcycle models. Now,as I discovered,it seems that they molded buses that are close to 1/87. The buses from the auction below are sitting close to a Mercedes-Benz coach from AB/Joy toy and their size look just about right. As stated, photos equals several words, hence see it below: cgi.ebay.com/GUILOY-1-87-BUSES-TIMES-THREE-UNBOXED_W0QQitemZ6980323608QQcategoryZ223QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Sure, they are toy-ish, but again is made by a manufacturer that is unknown as an 1/87 scale vehicle producer.

Dear Sirs:
I agree that this kind of material is very unusual but still,it exists.
I spoke about the Orange Line and the fact that it debuted yesterday. Well, they were giving away a gift (wich became unavaliable as yesterday but I got lucky) to comemorate the debut of this route: An 1/87 scale NABI articulated with Orange Line markings as the ones that run in this route. The material is cardboard and one has to fold it.However,is a very accurate replica of the real thing and as I compared with Road Champs Flxble Metro bus,the proportions of the cardboard bus are quite accurate. Is a companion to the foam-made NABI 40- footer (the artic measure 60 feet). It may debut in 1/50 scale as the latter.

Dear Sirs:
It seems a popular option among the Non-HO manufacturers: Mercedes Benz Actros Semi Tractor. I thought that this would be a 2006 Matchbox release (I saw it on such packaging) but I also saw it on the 2005 packing version (hence,it was a 2005 release). Horrendous wheels(which,as I heard,Matchbox is discontinuing) ,and detail as expected from a diecast miniature.

Dear Sirs:
On my visit to Wal Mart,I found the Malibu Vehicles and it seems that these are the same vehicles, but in different colors. But,be as it may, these are still there.
One of the things that I noticed is that the Trend Syndicate vehicles are not longer offered. However, there is a lot of vehicles from the producers of the Malibu Line and Wal Mart is one the few stores who have lots of vehicles at the small scales, albeit not all in 1/87.
Besides the Yat Mings in 1/72,there were a line which offered a line of cheap vehicles at the sime size. Now,besides that, and stored at the same location, there is a line of a diversified line of Military Tanks (in another words, many models) and all of these in 1/144 scale. (compatible with aircraft models). Also, other line up wich offers a Gigantic Dump Truck (1/144,perhaps) and a whole line of Construction and Agricultural vehicles which could very well be 1/87 scale and that includes Agricultural trailers as well.Very nice range these small vehicles. Plus - at least, the package is at the same size - a whole lot of Motorcycles and these may fall at 1/32 scale, but these are all New Rays. All of course,at the $1.67 range.I will get some of the tractors and see if they are 1/87.

Dear Sirs:
Below, the article on the Ford Crown Victoria. It will go in fases, because I still have to pinpoint my Busch Catalogs.
Ford Crown Victoria,Mk I and II,1992 present.
1.The real car.
One can say that the Ford Crown Victoria is a blast of the past,a vehicle from another era,as was the Checker Marathon when its production ended in 1982. Be as it may, the Vic made a name for itself as it remained solo at the Police Market and, according to NHTSA ratings,it is a five star in terms of safety (some advertising states as the safest car in the world). And there it goes: only remaining true full-size car, frame on body construction and an old man's vehicle (and now is stated that is not that true). From 1997 on,it became the sole remaining police vehicle as the Caprice left the market, and at 80% of the police market,it is at the same position Plymouth had in 1978,the difference being that at that year Plymouth have competing makes at that market.Granted, the new Impala also made some inroads, but the preference was towards the Vic. A new competitor arrived: Chrysler, with its Magnum and Charger combo.
The Vics are at the fleet market in a very high rate,be it Police,Taxi or Company Car. Its sister, the Gran Marquis is the one grabbed by the buyers because it offers a tad more of luxury and more potent engines and is basically only seen at rental car companies, not fleets, albeit some were used as cop cars and taxis. Sales of the two are in the 100,000 units bracket.
The first Ford Crown Vic was launched in 1955 and it differed from its Fairlane twin by having a silver chromed stripe on its roof which was an extension of the 'B' pillar and the name - Victoria - was from a carriage type. The 1956 model also had a Crown Vic model and that was that.
1974: Gas shortage. And,the 1970's had seen car sizes going to very big proportions and Chevrolet got away by offering the largest and longest Chevys ever. Hence, downsizing was something that the big three had to come with, the most dramatic being the Cadillac Seville which was built on the Chevy Nova platform and awed everyone in the industry when it debuted by being the smallest Cadillac in ages. Hence, the concept of full-size had diminished from 122 inch wheelbase to around 118 or less,as the new Generation of Caprices in 1977 and LTDs in 1979 would show. Not only that,at the next decade, all cars,be it small medium or what was called full-size were to be fwd;rwd being reserved to light trucks,full-size sedans and for a short while, full size station wagons. And,the full-size,rwd sedans were marked for extintion.Chrysler did that in 1981.GM in 1996.
In 1978 Ford introduced the Panther Platform, which would be used on the new,1979 LTD.Gran Marquis and the Lincolns starting in 1981.And,from 1980,the LTD Crown Victoria model was reborn and,as its 1950's siblings,it had the chrome stripe at its roof. By 1983,on the Fox Platform, the mid-sized LTD came to life, but it did not lasted long. The big saibling would became the LTD Crown Vic and only would see a major re-design with the 1988 model.Ford considered to drop its larger sibling by 1985,earlier than the Caprice, but by then Pontiac was in trouble due the fact it dropped its larger platform and the Caprice was,as the auto magazines of the period would state, the rebirth of the decade because it too was slated for extintion at early 1980's.
When the replacement of the LTD Crown Vic was announced, a starling news was unveiled: the most known and Universal Station Wagon of them all,the Ford County Squire, was being dropped and so was the LTD nameplate.GM kept the wagons, albeit its Olds Vista Cruiser was avaliable for only two seasons in the 1990's.
Engines would stay on the 4 liter range and the Police Interceptor would reach 130 mph by 1999.Built only in Ontario,Canada.
One could say that the new Vic was a blown sized Taurus which by then was a sucessful sensation and the 1992 model did not even had a front grille and the design at that area was similar to its smaller counterpart. However,on the next season,1993,it gained a front grille and one could tell a 1993 from a 1994 by looking at its rear end. 1995 brought the current Thunderbird's rear lenses and afer the 1997 season, the Mark II debuted.
And there were more news: despite holding the Police market to itself by 1997, Vics were also being used by the Police forces of Moscow and Saint Petersburg.Russia.
The Cops were not happy with the Vic being single at the Police market by 1997 because, quote, it shaked all over as it hit 100 mph, unquote. As the Mark II debuted, a de Watts link corrected the problem and the 2002 model had major modifications at its chassi, the same Panther Platform, which was introduced in 1978. Its handling was by far better as well.
Another fact with the Mark II: the civilian and the cop car (called the Police Interceptor now) were diferent entities. Of course, they would share the same technologies, but while the civilian version suffered no exterior changes, the cop car would suffer minutae ones, including a new grille which was introduced in 2002.Of course, there is the gas tank problem, but officialy - word from Ford Co. - the cars imploded when these were stationary and were hit at speed approaching 100 mph, and,as stated, these are not conditions that one could survive. There are kits which are designed to avoid gas tank punctures when one collides with rear end of the vehicle.Other word from the Corporation stated that civilian cars will never go at speeds that the cop cars go so there are no problems there. Is still an issue as far the Cops are concerned.
At some literatures,it was stated that the life of the Vic will end in 2006; now 2008 and 2010 is mentioned. To be replaced by a front driver, but that was dismissed no doubt because of the sucess of the Chrysler 300; to be replaced by the Australian Ford Falcon but that too,was denied. Most plausible to be replaced by a vehicle using the Mustang's Platform.
In Canada, since 2000,the Vic is only offerd to police/taxi fleets, one could get the ones are decomissioned from duty and the Marquis is,in their literature, branded as a Ford, but has Mercury markings and is the only Merc sold in that country. The same was supposed to happen in the US as 2006,but now there are three civilian models avaliable: the Base,LX,LX Sport, the latter was introduced this year.Again, perhaps the sucess of the Chrysler 300 prompted this decision. After all,it amazed the auto press when Chrysler decided to build rwd sedans.
Finally, when the cop cars appear at eBay,due to any reason, always attract heavy bidding.

2. The models.
In 1/87,Busch was the first manufacturer to offer the Vic,a Mk I 1997 version introduced in 1998. Walthers offered a very poor replica of the 1998 version in 1999 and as of this Century the German Company Cop Car Collection had an assortment of the 1999 model which does not seem to be a copy of the Walthers versions. As of the 2006,Model Power will introduce the 2004 version and it they did their homework well,it may have the new grille which was introduced in 2002. Busch,Walthers, and Cop Car Collection also offer civilian models and this car, needless to say,is offered in virtually all major scales including the odd ones.

3.Notes on the Models.
As is expected, since the Crown Vic is big on fleet use, many of its miniatures replicate this fact as well. Busch offered it first as a Sedan and then in fleet form. The State Police Vehicles are limited editions but can be found here and there;the same applies for the Taxi versions and City Police items.Busch filled the State Police series in 2005,hence is to be seem how the Vics will be offered in the future.
E-R used Busch models and this company is no longer in business.Be as it may,as an example,Busch had the Caprice as a CHP or New York State Police car. This way,it fills some gaps. A tad more limited than the Busch releases. The Busch replicated the 1997 moodel year.
In 1999,Walthers (as the one with the Walthers Catalog) released a series of assembled cars which were pointed as very poor made (as far details were concerned).Their Vics are not an exception. However, these were the modern ones in terms of vehicle model and livery for the Police agency in question. These are also found here and there (as anything else, most at eBay). They reproduce the 1998 model.

Dear All:
Heritage from my times at George's show: circa 1973 Dodge Fire truck, similar to the one which starred at the 'Emergency TV Show".Diecast, made in Hong Kong, red on red, metallic base.Circa 1/87 scale, perhaps a tad larger, but it shows confortable close to the Roco version. I had that item for nearly twenty years and I always classified this item as Generic Hong Kong brand, but as of yesterday, discovered that it belongued to a set offered by Imperial Toys.
The releases - automotive, there is - from Imperial Toys were always few and in between. And,since that Dodge fire truck been 'identified',it will rank as pratically solo release from that manufacturer.Alas,at that Fire set there is a Cabover truck as well, but it seems that this is a 1/90 scale vehicle.
Imperial Toys also released,in the 1990's,a series of tractor-trailers whose tractors were Fords. However, these were Yat Ming castings and this series did not lasted long and/or offered adittional models. As of late,a series of trucks (non 1/87) and cars (including a nice Ford Fairlane 1957,again,non 1/87) were offered, but now, this series can be found with Buddy L's packaging.
Hence,for the listings:
Imperial Toys
Dodge Fire truck,c. 1973 Cabover fire vehicle,c 1/90 Ford tractor/trailers (Yat Ming castings)
