Brekina has announced some of their new models already. No new American prototypes so far; apart from that I find their toy fair program oddly balanced anyway, but we'll see. Brekina - Renault 4 Fourgonnette (with this they are lashing out at Wiking, who are rumored to be working on the same model) - OM Lupetto Truck - Büssing 12000 Truck - Robur Garant Truck Drummer - Fiat 131 Starmada - Land Rover 109 Go to www.mo87.de for photos and the full list (the link is at the bottom of the news item: "...weiter lesen").

Let's hope that Brekina comes up with at least one newly tooled American vehicle as they have done excellent work so far. Cam someone please tell Herpa that other cars exist besides German vehicles? Why no modern Saabs, Subarus, Volvos or Jaguars?
I'll be watching RPS like a hawk this coming Jamuary 25, 2014. If I don't see a pre-production vehicle of anything for future release on that weekend, (Amherst show in Massachusetts), then it could be ominous. I always hope for the best, but that has gotten me nothing lately.
Neo could surprise us with some new announcements of American vehicles, and it would be most welcome if the 1969 Charger is part of it!
If Oxford Diecast is there, let's hope they continue with their fine HO cars. Their pricing is excellent, and I hope they expand their offerings of more American cars.

I'm really hoping for Neo to do the 68 Charger as announced a while back. 1963-1968 American cars (except the Mustang and Corvette) have long been completely ignored by most manufacturers of 1/87 scale vehicles. Its true that Classic Metaalworks made a 66-67 Charger and a 67 Ford sedan. Other than resin kits, there are almost no other 1/87 scale mid 60's American cars (again except for Mustangs and Vettes). That fact and the fact that the 68 Charger is one of my favorite cars (my 1:1 68 Charger is currently at the body shop for restoration), is why I really want to see a 1/87 68 Charger. But I would be happy to see most any American cars in 1/87 scale from the mid 60's. I am looking forward to the 55 Fords from Classic Metalworks, and wish they would go ahead and make the 56 Dodges that were announced then cancelled. I am real surprised that Brekina has not yet expanded a line of 59 Chevys. The El Camino mold easilly lends itself to making a sedan delivery and a station wagon. They make multiple body styles for many of the cars they make, why not the 59 Chevy. They really shouldn't stop at wagons and sedan deliveries. They should be doing sedans hardtops and convertible 59 Chevys as well. But I really want to see them do some completely new molds of American cars.

I've never understood why they did not make a sedan instead of the El Camino. The El Camino is nice, but a sedan would have been easier to adapt in many more interesting versions.

Wow, look at all the interest in Toy Fair this year! Are there going to be any surprises this year? Any new players in HO? We need all of the help we can get!

Vito,
give it a few more days (Jan 29 is the opening day). Not holding my breath for major surprises, though ...

All,
I'm looking forward to announcements from Spark (if they are forthcoming on upcoming plans) and Neo (I'm ready to see more of their previously announced models introduced). Both companies are doing a great job of filling the void of modern 1:87 replicas.
Cheers!

Cor_Dutchart, I saw that last night. Really nice model. It's always nice when a model-maker invests the funds to produce a modern replica like that bus station. We have been in need of a high quality backdrop for all of those great Rietze, Herpa and AWM bus models. Tony F.

All,
I just saw that Makette will produce yet another Citroen CX in resin. Between the resin version produced by Neo and the die-cast version produced by several other model makers, it almost seems like overkill. I wish they had put those resources into producing a replica of the "Break" (station-wagon) version of this car.

Tony,
Makette's CX is the Prestige version from what I see, i.e. the longer wheelbase version. Still not the greatest choice in terms of French cars, but (not counting the Praliné model) pretty much inedited so far.
And another thumbs up for Kibri's bus station from me. I hadn't even expected any new tooling there.
