Dear All:
I consider this guy 1 / 64, not 1 / 55 as the most others. It cames on a blue box, is linked to a chain, and seems to be a Promo for Reanult Formula 1. Nice little item; paid only $3.00 for it at BHOH.

Dear All:
I heard of it a while ago: since RC2 has the Dukes of Hazzard licence, they were issuing vehicles from the show, albeit Roscoe's Car was a 1974 Dodge Monaco, which was not used so much in the show. Hence, rumour was that they would offer - at Johnny Lightning series - the 1977 / 1978 Dodge Monaco (as been issued by Matchbox last year and that was a runaway seller). I was not sure if they would foward that, but today I discoverd that - yes, they did! Cool! The car I adore is made by two Manufacturers in 1/64 scale. The Matchbox version is well captured, but there are issues with the Police Bar, B - Pillar (is collored as the windows, suggesting a hardtop, yet there is a Pillar detail) and the wheels - from a sporty vehicle. Still, I do love these, no matter what, since I know this car is quite difficult to capture right in small scale.
Johnny Lightning has the right wheels - the so known moonlight hubcaps - and B- Pillar; engine detail as well and they also offer a sedan version; Matchbox issues cop cars only.
According to the photo, Johnny Lightning version's front end look right (that is the part that goes wrong). To be seen.
I am quite happy......... now, a Matador, please!

Dear All:
It took four years, but I just received it: Realtoy Ford Windstar, FedEx / Kinko's livery (boxed too). I will be using eBay's search more often.

Dear All:
M2 miniatures is called a cottage brand, but they brought these magnificent (and in 1/64 scale, not three inches) autos from the 1950's, including an Oldsmobile 88 fastback, 1957 Ford and the gorgeous 1959 Cadillac 62 Series. Then, they brought some of the Muscle Cars, including a Superbird with the headlights either up or down.
Now, they will release the Studebaker Pick Up (the one which debuted on the late 1940's) and their literature indicates that Studebaker Cars will be done as well. Also, they are getting on PEM / Hartoy territory, since they will release a line of trucks (in 1/64 scale) which includes a 1957 Dodge COE and a 1958 Chevrolet. Not bad at all.

Dear Perez:
I do not know everything (1/64 scale has an extensive history) but I keep on date with it thanks to many sources on the Internet (including the Manufacturer's sites) and MCCH (Matchbox Collectors Community Hall) which have a good amount of very well informed people on the subject.

Dear All:
Matchbox released, for 2010, the Fisker Karma - an hybrid that is supposed to be equally as fast (but has a large price Tag). The Holden Ute, which was very appreciated by the collectors of the brand; a Caterham; Jeep Willys; Porsche 914; 1957 GMC Pick Up with all the bella and whistles.
For 2011, a 1971 Superbird and a 1965 Mustang, and a Lamborghini.
At first, Greenlight issued the Dodge Ramcharger - sans top at first, then a plastic top was added. They later came with something more interesting: the Dodge Ramcharger's twin, the Plymouth Trail Duster, equipped with a Plastic Top. Up to now, the only miniature of the Trail Duster was made by Matchbox, but on the Superkings series. And that is not all. Since Greenlight has a Police series, they will be the third 1/64 scale manufacturer to mold the 1974 Dodge Monaco (ERTL and Playing Mantis / Johnny Lightning were the other two). Add this to their nice quality, and you have some winners here.
M2 is also releasing a 1958 Buick and a Pontiac Accadienne.
Hot Wheels 2011 releases includes a Ford Torino, 1970 Pontiac GTO and Mustang II Concept Car. On their more premium series, a 1966 Dodge Van and a 1964 GMC Panel Van were issued.

Dear, Stanhas: Are you aware of Tomica? the japanese company hat makes several types of toys? they make these cars that comes within a box and is the same ranks as hotwheels and Matchbox. They were to sell some city playset for kids that includes some cars available at Toys R Us. The thing that makes me mad is that they don't sell the cars individually! it sucks! it would be a dream for them to sell the cars apart! u think they would sell well here?

Dear Perez:
Tomica is testing the waters to see how the reception of their products will be on their second attempt at the US market. Granted, I wanted to see individual units as well.
In the late 1970's and early 1980's Tomica did marketed in the United States - they were the Pocket Car series. Two factors went against them (at the time): one, the proeminence of Japanese cars, which were not so liked in that period; and the price factor (they were more expensive since these were more detailed), due to the fact that the collecting community was smaller at that period - and these were seen mostly as toys - hence the mothers - which at the time, were the ones who would buy these toys for their children - would pass the Tomys in favor of the more low priced Mattel or Matchbox items. By 1988, they were out of the US market, yet it developed a fan base, and one could get these either at toy / model shows or swap meets and / or via Bob Blum, a major Tomica dealer from New York (I met him once). The fan and collector base - which is very bigger now - are happy and noticed that they are back; there are rumours that they would be sold individually, but as of now I can not say. I been following their activity on Toys R Us, and they been selling, so this time Tomica may want to do normal business in the USA; they have a lot of fans now who like and want their products. I do have many of them.

Dear All:
A refreshing on the subject.
The major players on the 3 inch market are of course,Mattel, which also owns Matchbox and again, the latter is becoming ridiculous, due to the fact of the too many 'imaginary vehicles', and now they also became 1-120 series.Of new,a very high off the ground convertible International Scout;and a heavily equipped Ford Explorer 2011;Forest Ranger and Fire Chief Trucks. On the past years, they also bought a 1955 Buick Police Unit,as used on the real life by the CHP and the TV Show 'Highway Patrol'.The consequence of that was the fact that this model was very hard to find because it was a CHP unit version, and at the same time bought the memory of the above-mentioned show.A 2012 Charger was promised for 2012,but as of yet did not came foward.
Mattel also brought some ineteresting items. One of them is a circa 1966 Chevy II Station wagon.Until 2012,the only miniature I knew of it was a N Gauge - 1/160 Scale - made by Bachmann;mine is red. This item is also hard to find. Also known were the Chevrolet Opala,Volkswagen Brasilia and Volkswagen SP2 - Brazilian Vehicles - issued by them. There is a 2013 Dodge Viper,BMW 2002,1971 Custom el Camino and many more;actually,Hot Wheels are issuing more realistic vehicles than Matchbox and is known that they still hold the Ferrari Licence.
Greenlight most sucessful series is the Police Vehicles;they offered the Ford Crown Victoria in 2008 and the final year of production - 2011.Also the Charger on 2011 model year, and there was a model issued as 'Policia Civil' of Rio de Janeiro,as seen on the Fast & the Furious movie. The issue of that is the fact that part of the movie was filmed in Puerto Rico (and it was considered as Rio de Janeiro);hence the Chargers.Police from Chile do use Charger;Brazilian Police does not, because is considered a very luxurious car there. The graphics on the Greenlight car are accurate, however. They also took over the High Speed castings, and the are offered as 'Foreign Vehicles' in some cases and there are also American cars in that batch. They also cost less than the vehicles issued by Greenlight.
M2 is a bit static now,but they also offered truck and trailers with Dodge - 1958 Chevrolet, which almost no one issues;is the one with 4 headlights and look alike to the 1957,and more molded issue - and Ford Tractors. At first, there were serious cars from the Auto Tentich series, but as of now 'customized' ones are also offered.Muscle cars are plenty as well the older and classic ones. They also issued a 1955 Mercury M-100 pick up,which was avaliable at the Canadian Market only.
Minichamps gave up on the 1/64 scale. On the USA,these were $20.00+ three inchers, but so well made - the Porsche Racer had brake Calipers details! I love this miniature.I have a list of what they made and by next month I will be looking for.My source for them was,of course,Burbank's House of Hobbies.
Welly will introduce the FIAT 500 4-door and many other goodies, including a Bentley Continental.Of course, due to their $4000 policy - which I already explained before - small cars are difficult to find;but there is a Polish - Polish!!! - distribuitor for them and I been getting these from Poland for a While.A Camry,Corolla - which is very difficult to find - ,Aston Martin Vantage,Porsche Panamera,Ford Mustang 1964 1/2,Hummer H3 are also offered. They also have their Russian cars, made for the Russian Market and also made there - Volgas,UAZ and others are avaliable. There, 3-inch Russian cars, including a Russian Chevrolet (can not remember its name;its a small SUV).I am always checking on the Polish seller who always is offering a 3-inch Welly.
Tomica is not offering cars at Toys R Us anymore;it seems that they were poor sellers.Current Nissan were offered, some buses, trucks and construction equipment were also avaliable, as well the peg warmer Mitsubishi 4-door pick up. I still see them at the store, but the individual units are discounted, which indicates - to me at least - that they will be a discontinued item.Tomica also bought RC2 and the Johnny Lightning division, and the Dodge Monaco is still being done, and there is a 'Monaco' script at its front end.Other Chrysler product offered by Johnny Lightning is - prepare yourself - the Dodge Aspen, which was known to have extreme rust issues.Jeep Cherokee,as well. Tomica, besides creating Tomica USA,also upped the ante by offering Korean Cars (for the Korean Market) and the new Hyundai Sonata is an offering.Likewise, they are also offering Chinese Vehicles for,of course, the Chinese Market and includes the Toyota Camry,FAW Hong Qi Limo, and FAW Trucks.
And this is it for now.

Dear All:
Things got static at Johnny Lightning - but their Wagoneer,International Pick Up are very nice items.Alas, these are also sold as ERTL models. But no new models.
Greenlight was a tad static as well, but interesting models from them includes a Ford Focus 4-door,the new Ford Expedition Police Package, and the new Ford Escape. At least, they are keeping with the new cars.
I have no news from M2 Castline and did not been checking their site lately.
Motormax activities on 1/64 scale are literally frozen;their site lists only the models they introduced more than a decade ago;the Fresh Cherries castings are equally gone.
Welly activities been reported on the post above.Find their items is the issue.
Matchbox is beyond ridiculous with their releases - a too decorated Explorer Police Package and Fire Chief,a too raised International Scout and (ugh) their generic items.Next year, expect a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado,Toyota Tacoma 4-door,and a ridiculously (Blue Bird?) raised School Bus.On the other hand,Mattel have some other interesting vehicles such the a 1970 Toyota Coupe and on another series a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Wagon (Brady Bunch anyone?) Same problem:too custom.
Yat Ming is gone.Out of business. It should be mentioned that they were doing classy models, but they started as an underdog which were copying other manufacturer cars, but these copies and their own models had a fair amount of detail.Their circa 1966 Chevelle was,on my view, one of their best efforts;the Saab Sonnet was not that bad either. But since 2007 they were not doing any kind of 1/64 scale anymore, but,as Motormax, they had some of their older castings sold as sets.
Around the early 1980's,I was hearing a lot about Auto World and also remember asking for their catalog but I have no idea what was in that brochure.Perhaps their line of kits.Twenty years later,I would see their slot racers on eBay,specially their 1978 Dodge Monaco. As of now, they introduced a line of - Real 1/64 Scale models as they call it - diecast cars which have two series - the basic ones (no box) and the De Luxe ones (with box). The first row includes a 1966 Chevrolet Impala and a 1969 Pontiac Firebird.Metal body, metal base and the basic range goes around $4.99, avaliable at Wal Mart. As part of the second row, they will mold a vehicle that was and is very important to me (have it now):1969 Chevrolet Kingswood Station Wagon.Learn to drive with that and also took my licence with that.Belonged to my Aunt;she sold it and by 2012 I located it and got it for $200.00;happy to have that and will be very anxious for that miniature to come out. They also promised a 1964 Ford Station Wagon,so I am really enjoying this entry to 1/64.The vehicles are very accurate and is impossible to call them toys.Engine detail as well;I hope they are 'perfect 1/64' as they claim.
More notices soon.

Dear All:
I remember when Greenlight was a new entry on the 1/64th scale range. The Muscle cars, including a 1967 and 1968 Impala Coupe to boot.Lately, the new Ford Escape,Focus,Fiesta and 2013 Fusion, which is also done in 1/43rd scale.Oh,trucks too,as the Ramcharger,Dodge D-100 Pick Up from the 1960's, 1972 Chevrolet Pick Up and Mercury M-100 Pick Up which was sold at the Canadian Market only (big 'MERCURY' markings at the tailgate).
They also have the Police Package, which includes the Ford CVPI,Ford Taurus Interceptor and the (Blue Brothers) 1974 Dodge Monaco as a variety of Police Cars, including Chicago Police and the Bluesmobile.
Other manufacturers - including Racing Champions and Matchbox - would also make Police Units from the 1960's,but they would use what been reproduced and most would be 2-door coupes (that would be a bit annoying). Not Greenlight.Their new Police casting is - my heart missed a beat when I saw that - a 1967 Chevrolet Biscayne sedan, four doors and all.The one I got has the Lousiana State Police Colors.New is the 2012 Ford Fusion as well. That is interesting, because Auto World will also release a 1969 Chevrolet Wagon. So these big mamas are coming to the miniature world, for in 1/43,a company called Matrix released a 1970 Ford Custom Police Unit (read Ford LTD;as far as I can tell,no miniatures of the 1970's Ford LTD exist);according to BHOH,the one with 'SFPD' markings sold in less than two days.Another 1/43rd Manufacturer,Premium X,released a 1973 Bel Air Police Unit.I am in heaven.
