Recently received an 87th scale Douglas DC-3 (I know, doesn't belong here) which I don't exactly know what to do with. I am sure that a nice diorama could be arranged. The DC-3 being basicly a cargo plane, I could see a diorama loading it with race cars. Or a fancy MB for a trip to the Middle East. Or............ ;D Skunk's exotic automobile transport.

Always have to make choices. Why can't we have our cake and eat it too. Thanks to a friend of ours (Christian) Jerry and I now have had the pleasure of having a Kinder Egg. We both got one of the Musketieres. Good chocolate. Now that you have cornered the LA market of the Japanesse version, have you found any real jewels?

Bill, So it's "Phishing" and not "Fishing"? I didn't know. I only have heard the word, never read it. So I've spelt it wrong. Phishing is a takeoff from fishing. People casting with baited computer hook hoping to catch a fish or two. One of the uses of fish in the English language is to mean some sucker who took the bate. ;D

I am told that Yahoo photo sites are free.
In your photoshop, look at the tool bar for image. Clicking on image should open various choices including resizing of the picture.

I may be wrong, but I think the photo is a direct link to the photo on your website. You are going to run out of your website space fast if you post large pictures like that. Sylvain/Chester - What is the DPI size you use for the pictures you guys post on your picture galleries?
BTW David - A really nice job on the Chevy and thanks for sharing.

I just received two today from Truckstop - Suds and Shine, & the milk delivery. I don't think that the prices are to high considering what we have to pay for other vehicles such as ten to twenty dollars for a Busch model. They are fairly nicely painted plus you get painted figures, etc. with them. Everything is fixed in place with no moving parts. No, they do not have the high end detail that we have come to expect, nay demand on our models today. They were created to use as a mini scene for use on a M---L R------d layout, not a stand alone in a model collection. They are filling a need for those folks who do not have time or imagination to create this kind of thing themselves. They are depicting everyday life in anytown, USA.
As Joe has shown, with a litlle modeling work, one could have a real jewel.
They should sell well, at least in the U.S.

As I have said before, I think they are ducking any liciencing problems by doing generic models. When glanced at you see a period and style of the model. They do come painted with figures for doing easy scenes on model railroads (oops). Woodland Scenics is not known so much for detail but for the general scenery effect.

these are models whose tooling is being retired to the secret Wikingbunker in Berlin. Ah Ha! Is this where the Roskopf dies are hidden also??

Eric - your statement is an understatement. Most modelers in larger scales such as 1/35 and even larger would be very happy to do as well as Mr Janke. Most would be happy to have done one or two pieces with this kind of detail, but he has done dozens. Very little gives the pieces away as models. Even less tells you of the smallness of the scale he is working in. Thanks for sharing.

With todays computer photoshop abilities one can not tell if it is for real or not unless one has it in his hands. At least collecting models this way takes a lot less space. ;D

It sure looks like someone at Busch did a little inside joke and Christian spotted it. Now Cawthon is going to become a household name, at least in the 1/87th world. ;D

That last minute bid came from chocotoys in France. He sure stayed up late to watch the auction. By the time all the shipping is done you can say these models traveled around the world.
Well, Skunk, I just happen to have five (now four) of each type that I bought (won) on the German eBay from Minature Wonderland a while back. Just let me know when you are coming over. ;D

I am finding that what is hot in one part of the world is a dead issue in another part. I put a bunch of Roskopf models up for bid at 99 cent each in the U.S. and am getting very little response. One model which has gone no bid so far I am told is on a Europe bid board also with the present bid being $18.40 euros. I guess that I am using the wrong eBay.
