The hobby shops order from distributers. It is the distributer like Walthers that order from the manufacture. Manufactures send out an advance sheet to the distributers asking for advance orders. If they do not receive enough response, they to not run the item. I would suspect that the distributers have plenty in stock at the moment so did not reorder.

Is this site becoming so well known to the modeling world that the manufactures themselves are helping to keep you updated?

The Biscayne replaced the Del Ray in 1958 as a '59 model. The Del Ray, which was only produced for the 1958 model year, replaced the 150 as the base model in the lineup.
You mean that the four door Del Ray that I learned to drive in and had in the family for years just might be collectable today?
;D

Those castings are soft metal Chester. The weight of the metal will cause the model to sag and droop over a period of time when built. It would be nice if those models were redone in resin by someone

... About color-preference studies: how about having polls on this forum for future colors that are planned for Ricko-models?? I am more than happy to let Bill and Ricko choose the colors for each vehicle. Bill, being both a modeler and collector, understands both want and need for various colors.

[quote author=sabuu board=general The problem is that as we introduce new models, interest in our older products declines. This means that many of the models in the first and second releases are likely to be gracing our warehouse for some time to come. Bill C. As the word gets around about Ricko's quality and availability, they will be snapped up ;D

Ricko isn't doing anything that many of the other manufactures haven't done already as far as limiting production numbers. For some versions 5,000 may be to many while for others double or triple the number would not be enough. But how will they really know what is going to sell until they produce and market each model. Just think, if I preorder say 50 of the 1963 Lincolns and hold on to them for 5-10 years........ How much profit would I make on eBay? One just has to look at the bright side of things.

I believe this would make a great municipal plow truck. Hmmm. I have lived in Glendale for sixty years and still have yet to see a municipal plow truck on our streets. ;D But then we don't see snow on our streets either.

If you try to follow Bill's URL, you need to add the :87 to the end of it as it is not picking up in the yellow highlight. Or just copy and paste the whole thing.

I would like to write in this thread that I bought the Ricko models, but ... I am still waiting. Yes, they are on sale here but for ... 900 local dollars, that makes... 27 USD !! (This price is from auctions online, not shops. I haven't had time to go shopping. Too busy) Are they so expensive ? I doubt. Truck Stop Models carries the full Ricko line. They also have a new line of step vans ( Skunk asked about step vans

Don't hurry Nick. If BHofH qualifies to be a dealer, it will take about a month for them to receive stock. (Straight from the horses mouth.)
