If I remember correctly from my previous ownership of Chevy products, the Silverado was not actually a model of a vehicle, but a package of options one could buy from Chevrolet. For example, I had a Chevy K-20 pickup truck (3/4 ton 4x4) that had Silverado badging on it and I also owned a 1500 Suburban that also said Silverado on the side. It had to do with optional chrome, lights, dashboard and seats. I may be wrong.??

I suppose I'll make this more in the form of an inquiry since I do not know who made it in 1:87. It involves the Chevrolet backed Cheetah in 1964 I have seen, I believe made by a Japanese company. Can anyone fill in the blank here?

I'm sure you are all right about the name on the truck. It was a cabover design pick up with the Corvair engine. I remember sitting around with all of my grandfathers employees (which included my father and 3 of his brothers) and listening to them complain that it handled poorly, had no power and lacked in payload capabilities. Reminds me now of the old Ford Econoline (is there a 1:87 of this in a pickup version?) and the Jeep FC150 (EKO)

My grandfather had a contracting business that spanned over 60 yrs. What I remember of his "fleet' of trucks is, they were all Chevrolet, mostly pickups. One of his last purchases was the Corvair pickup. I may be mistaken, but wasn't it called the Corsair? BTW, my dad drove a total of 6 different year model El Caminos. I always considered them to be a bit phoophy(sp.) for my tatse but they do rangle my nostalgic senses.

Because many of the body styles of the truck division of Chevrolet are exactly the same as GMC trucks, would you include them also? GMC Jimmy=Chevrolet Suburban for example. Trident of course for a starter there.

After only a few quick calculations, I realized what a daunting task of identifying 1:87 Mercedes vehicles. There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 435 offerings from just one company, Wiking. And these are only passenger vehicles, not trucks! And this number does not reflect what has been offered this year either. Clearly one of, if not, the most reproduced vehicle in this scale. How does this compare to sales of the actual vehicles in 1:1?

Skunk, I have resorted to automotive lacquers almost exclusively. What you see is Ford Mo Co Sunburst Gold. I buy the little touch up bottles (with the brush in them) for about $2.50 ea. I can do 2-3 vehicles with one bottle and the thinner can be bought by the gallon (wicked cheap that way). On the Wikings, however you have to thin out a little more than usual so it dries very fast and doesn't give the lacquer a chance to wrinkle the plastic. BTW, the Automobilia wheels (made up for the savings on the paint here) in the 5 spoke, I thought looked much like the prototype. And thanks again for the help with the avitar!

I just noticed in the 50 year anniversary pack that Ferrero put out a few years ago that there is a 55 (?) T bird, a Lincoln Continental and an Edsel.

I have just compliled the existing list of Ford vehicles in 1:87 that you all have posted. I have six pages so I won't post it, with a total of 259 vehicles, so far. Bravo, gentlemen.

There was a variety of Model A truck configurations offered by Con-Cor several years ago including a stake body, dump, box van and a tanker.
