While unfortunately there are probably a few of us (those from outside the US) that may or may not know the shows that we watch here in America, much of what we see for automobiles, we see on the TV. Notably to me are the private investigator shows like Magnum P.I. with Mr. Sellicks Ferrari (or should I say his unseen employer Robins' Ferrari) and Spencer for Hire with Robt. Ulrich in his 65-66 Mustang fastback (that was replaced in the second season with a Mustang GT but brought back due to viewer complaints). Today I am not much of a TV watcher (limited to Discovery and Learning channel mostly) but when young I took in a steady diet of the idiot box. If there are those of you that had favorites that featured an automobile as a focal point, I'd like to know. A little trivia question that I don't know the answer to: What was the cop car in "Car 54 where are you?"

My favorite was the Dukes of Hazard, with of course a '69 Dodge charger, but then again I am a bit of a mopar person myself. That said, The starsky and Hutch Torino is a memorable car as well. I would like to see either, or both in 1/87. For awhile New Jersey Internalional claimed there were going to release the 68 charger in white metal but it never happened.

Dear Sirs:
Since the 1977-78 Dodge Monaco/Plymouth Fury are my absolute favorite car, I would go for T.J. Hooker (it was centered around the Monaco at the first season; at the second a St Regis was the patrol vehicle; yet a burgundish Monaco that was used as a detective car until the end of the series).
Hunter drove one of these, blue and it lasted until the season before the last. CHPs and Dukes of Hazzard also used a good amount of these.
The vehicle used on car 54 was a Mopar - either Dodge or Plymouth. I did not saw this show for years now, hence this is what it comes to my memory.
The Starski and Hutch Ford was hot but one detail was not right here: The Ford LTD - or Custom - police cars from LAPD. At that period, Plymouths were used by that PD.

A little trivia question that I don't know the answer to: What was the cop car in "Car 54 where are you?" Although it was mistakenly described as a DeSoto by Daimler Chrysler, the car used in "Car 54, Where Are You?" was a Plymouth Savoy.

Dear Sirs:
There is the Rockford files and his Pontiac Firebird. His dad had a GMC pick up, and his friend lawyer drove a Volkswagen Porsche.
I remember an episode from the show where one can see a police garage filled with white AMC Matadors. Police cars at that show were either the one mentioned above or the Chryslers from the period.

As a kid, in my most formative years especially regarding cars and girls, I used to watch Route 66. This show ran for about 4 or 5 years and each year these guys got a new based Corvette. As they worked their way across the country, they were always in a variety of vehicles (I remember the old pickups mostly). I always envied them and the gypsy life-style they led. This gave me a certain fondness for the Corvette that goes beyond styling or performance.

The TV show The Waltons had great vehicles out of the thirties. Does anyone remember what truck the dad had?

Dear Sirs:
Since I was talking about Mopars on another thread it came to me: Adam12 tv show.
At the first seasons they drove a Plymouth Belvedere. Next,by the end of the show, the cops graduated to Matadors. However, Dodge Coronets and Plymouths could be seen as well.

Two little tidbits of trivia: Being a Jeep owner and having owned several in the past gives me a certain penchant for the line. Going way back in my memories is the Roy Rogers show that featured a CJ 2 by the name of Nellybelle (whoa Nelly) that was in fact Roy Rogers vehicle in real life! The Maverick Special trim package was named after the show "Maverick" and was not featured in the show (it was a western) but Jeep used the show as a way to promote the Jeep station wagon of the late 50's.

The best car used in an American TV show remains Columbo's white Peugeot 404 Convertible. Sadly, it didnt run towards the end of the show, and had to be pushed onto the set.
On the absolutely appalling 80's-90's show "Family Matters", the equally appalling character Urkel drove an immaculate BMW Isetta. This little gem was supposed to demonstrate to the viewers how desperately broke/uncool he was...

Now, on Dallas, JR drove Mercedes, and at certain season, he switched....... to Cadillac.

How about the modified 1948 ford from the screen verison ofGreese the musical. The magnuson would be a good start with the clear resin, since theirs had a clear hood.

Halo,
How about the cars from Mr. Steed and Mrs. Peel?? Such an old Bentley and a Lotus was a beautyfull combination, wasn't it? And then the other vehicles used in the serie like Austin-Sava (Eko) and Daf 44 (Focus) for instance.

Steed drives two different Bentley, one from 1926 and one from 1929. And also a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost of 1927, in the series with Tara King. Emmal Peel's metallic blue Lotus is a Lotus Elan. Tara King drives an AC Cobra 428 and a car that would be nice to see in our scale, a red Lotus Europa.
And as we are talking english series, there is one car very typical and already available in our scale: the Mini Moke Taxi from "The prisoner"!
