Does anyone know if the following models are available in 1/43 (preferably good quality diecast)?
- Chrysler Crossfire - Nissan 350Z - Cadillac CTS

Whoa, that was quick. Not very helpful though. For my defense: they are needed for 1/87 projects. ;D

It is not 1/43 (I think it is about 1/64). If you can use also this size, I would be glad to forward it to you.

Well, what I need are accurate models (read: Minichamps etc.). The scale is not that important to me, but I figured that 1/43 would be the best compromise. I already have a few models in that scale so the 350Z and the others would fit in there. I guess a 1/64 scale model can be helpful, too, especially if I don't find a 1/43 version.

I took a closer look on the 350Z keychain, it is not 1/64 either. I'm sorry for the confusion. Its basic measurements: wheelbase: 36,5 mm, overall length: 59,7 mm, overall width: 25 mm. From a 2004 car catalogue, I have found this to be in very accurate 1/72 scale. Its bottom only says "Nissan 350Z, under licence. Made in China". My guess is that this is one of Cararama 1/72 models being made as a key chain (?).

Christian: I see that there is 1/43 models of the 350Z, and I will suggest you go for this - " downsizing" from 1/43 to 1/87 should be much easier to calculate, just divide all proportions by 2. Anyway, if you would like to have that 1/72, just drop me a note and I will send it to you (at no costs).

Peter,
thanks, just what I need! A 1/43 CTS is probably a hopeless issue, but I'm not going for the Mattel 1/18.
Bjarte: what do you think, how accurate is the keychain?

Bjarte: what do you think, how accurate is the keychain? The 2004 Nissan 350Z has following dimensions: wheelbase: 2650 mm, overall length: 4310 mm, width: 1815 mm, heigth: 1315 mm. (compare with the specs for the keychain model above). I have concluded that this is very accurate 1/72 scale. Its proportion and overall appearance looks very good when I compare it with pictures (I have not seen this vehicle here in Bergen yet), and is a highly detailed model (interior, free rolling wheels, inserted headlights etc.) to be on a key chain. I only bought it bacause I thought it was in 1/87.......

Judging from Christian's various postings, I'm expecting a flood of Prometheus products this coming year. ;D Completely unrelated, I always wished that Tamiya would release 1/87 cars. They're big enough in Japan to make it conceivable that this would create a Japanese H0 market - with fantastic consequences. Their 1/24 models seem like excellent material for building 1/87 cars, I purchased a Toyota Hi-Ace delivery truck with the intention of scratchbuilding one in our scale. Once I'm retired... And lastly: Why the CTS? I find it quite terribly looking myself.

I generally like the appearance of the new Cadillacs and since I am not too fond of SUVs I ended up with the CTS. The XLR looks nicer, but I want a sedan first.

Dear Christian - I also like the CTS, and I would prefer a sedan first too. You can count in me for this project. After all, there are no modern Cadillac models available in 1/87, and this will be a great addition to our hobby. A wise choice !
