I have to admit, that as far as Cadillacs go, the CTS is definitely the best one. How's that for d-a-m-nation by faint praise?
Simon Cox (he also penned the Isuzu VehiCROSS and Axiom) used to be one of my favorite designers, too. I have seen pictures of the new STS, and I think that this particular design language is gelling much better there, it has reached a certain maturity.
The STS won't show up in any smaller scales for some time though.

Of all of the hundreds of models I own, there is one 1:43 sacle vehicle. It is a Triumph Spitfire Mk 2 kit by K&R Replicas and represents the first sports car I owned in 1:1. It remains, however, in the box, unmade. Very nice castings though.

JeanMarc, It's funny you should mention the Vanguard. I only recently purchased it and it truly is a remarkable model. By the way, it has a removable hardtop and the tonneau for the top down look. I even found it in the Signal red like the Mk1 I owned. Very well done. A very nimble vehicle in 1:1, and I have had the opportunity to drive many sports cars early in life including TVR's (Griffiths), Maseratis and Porsches. I even drove an old AC Cobra once. The only thing lacking in the Spitfire was that tremendous off-the-line acceleration. The GT6 of course is basically the same car in a fastback with a straight six cyl. engine, but alas, not that much more power.

Dear Sirs: Goes without saying that Brooklin is the one who offers the most models of American Cars. The Tucker was first modeled by this company. The Kaiser Manhattan is only molded by this company. There is a miriad of interesting models made by them.Lately, some of the original models are being discontinued.I heard comments that since the metal at these cars is so thick, details at times are not that concise. To me they look all right but I never been able to afford one but love most of the cars-specially the ones that are not reproduced by no one else.

Dear Sirs: I was thinking about the Latin American Cars thread when I spotted these models, but since these are on 1/43 scale.................... The Itamaraty Limousine will appear at the third and sixth photo by itself. It was the only limousine-type built in Brazil and these were in service for a good while. Supposedly, one of these end up here in the US. I think that seven of these were built. The Burgundish car is the original, circa 1964 Brazilian Aero Willys;the yellow one is a circa 1968 Itamaraty sedan. Good subjects for models in 1/87. www.mercadolivre.com.br/jm/item?site=MLB&id=18236654

I have a certain affinity for this oddball, Chevrolet backed Cheetah, a beautiful 1/43 kit from Reactor Models that sells for about $150.00 new. A few used ones here: www.cheetahracecars.org/the_cheetah.html

Dear Sylvain:
I know this gentleman who makes decals for Police cars ( and paint the vehicles accordingly; his latest project was the Crown Victorias that are running in Moscow). Last time I saw him,in 2002, I was told the Majorette molded a 1/43 scale Dodge Diplomat - and he insisted on that, stating that he saw it- on Police car liveries. I wonder if you know, please,if such model exists, because frankly, I do not believe it does. I checked many Majorette listings, and none do mention it. I am wrong?

Are you talking about James Botaitis in Canada?
I was thinking about having him make me some stickers for some projects, he works in 1/87 as well. I just need to figure out how to make vector-based images so he has something to work with.

Dear Skunk:
The Gentleman I am talking about is not Greek; he is american and he decals 1/43 scale models such as the ones from Road Champs and the short-lived Dimension4 models, who molded (irregulary,I may add; they even did not knew the difference the Monaco and Fury) the 1977-1978 Dodge Monaco at that scale. His redintion of a CHP Monaco is not bad; looks very good despite of the model's shortcomings.
Otherwise,my enquiring of the Majorette Diplomat is still pending.

Dear Sirs:
Since the 'Le Jamais Contente' was mentioned on other threads, I just found yesterday my model of it.which was made by RIO in 1/43 scale. It is a nice version of it; details of it chassi and the front wheels steer (and it has not a sterring wheel; yet, at the model,it turns). In all,it is a great little model.
As Skunk mentioned, historically, this vehicle was the first motor car to break the 100 km/h (circa 62 miles per hour) barrier.
Of course, models of it on 1/87 will be welcome.
And then, there is the Blue Flame, which broke the 1000 km/h (circa 620 mph) barrier..........

Dear Sirs:
Today on may usual 'hunting by' I found a Porsche Boxster by High Speed and this item is boxed. Was the only one left at this dollar-only store; first time I ever saw it outside of eBay or toy shows and never saw boxed models. It looks fine as the other ones that I bought at George's show in 2001.
I also should add that at one time I made an extra subscription to Reader's Didgest (to a friend) in order to receive their gift vehicles which were molded by High Speed. I never did received anything and these are close to impossible to find. Bob Kelley from MVU had a couple of pieces but I never been able to get these.
I hope that I can find some more of this boxed cars at the store that I found it.

Dear Sirs: I been talking about EBBRO and as always, let the pictures do the talking. One of the things that I appreciate from this manufacturer is the fact that its models are not limited to the more popular japanese models. As I load its URL down I am thinking on Skunk at his passion for japanese vehicles. I understand that is not 1/87 but is worth a shot. See it below: www.ebbro.com/WEB.htm
