Dear Skunk: If I am not wrong.Finland also had a good amount of large american cars.Trust me,I adored the 1960's Valiant photos, since I am a Mopar person.I was also told that these large cars are more steady on frozen surfaces, but I am not sure about that. The Model at the left was reproduced by Revell/Heljan.The one at the right there is not any models of it,just a 1968 Dodge Dart Convertible by Lone Star. Nick K ;D

Skunk,
The Heljan/Revell model, at least the sedan, is a Dodge Lancer, with a different front grille. But the correct model is available by Weico (Chrysler Valiant similar to Plymouth Valiant).

Plymouth did not offer the Valiant up for Police service here in the States until the mid seventies.
I 'll make a bet that those early sixties Valiant police exports were actually Taxi packages

Dear Sirs:
I would agree with Joe on that because at times Police and Taxi are similar packages

In fact I could't imagine these cars used as American Police vehicles at all, but maybe budgets forced them to do so in the 70s ? What about the Dodge Dart ? Was this car used as Police cars in the States ? (I would like to know, because of Eko's '66 Dart 4-door, which is also is good basis for making other Dart and even Valiant models).

Dear Bjarte:
The Dart and Valiant Police packages were avaliable only for 1976,their final year of production, according with Encyclopedia of Police Cars. The EKO Dart will not be suitable for a Cop car, unless it was Used abroad. It seems that Spain Assembled this car on the 1960's;I am not sure.

The Dart and Valiant Police packages were avaliable only for 1976 Too bad! I’ve got of mine Eko’s Dodge Dart painted in black and white as a typical (for me) US police car. Oh well…

Dear Sylvain:
Oh,well it is all right, since Plymouth's Belvedere-which was used as a cop car-is almost identical to your model.

Just because a police package was not offered does not mean it was not used in Police service.
LA used Nash Metropolitans for parking duties. Many smaller towns or cities with small budgets may have used Valiants or Darts
I know for a fact that the City of Chicago, which really was not motorized until 1958 tested many non Police package cars. Falcon, Larks and Valiants even Corvairs were tested in 1961
Actually Studebaker offered a special long wheelbase 113.5 inch Lark for Police and Taxi service. The Marshal and Economiler.

Dear Joe:
When I responded to Sylvain I had this on my mind-the parking meter cars-but I end up forgeting it.Now at days they use even Honda Civics to do this job.

I read these post in the morning, then went on my morning run. While running, it hit me.
Take a Mini Metal Charger, modify it with the Eko Dodge Dart roof, add four headlights, then your in business with a nice mid sixties Mopar Police Package.
