Dear Sirs: Now I became curious if SAI/V & V would release a Peugeot 505 wagon.That could molded as a Tour of France support vehicle................ Perhaps not.

I agree - don't order there unless you have lots of patience. He offers the Renault Estafette for 22 Euros (official retail 38?) ... let me know when you want anything, Münster is not far from here. I think this modelshop announces the models too soon. I made an order time ago, and never received it (the money wasn´t charged either). One of the 16 models I ordered were the SAI renault Clio which was released almost one year later.

About the Peugeot 505: I’ve seen it at SAI’s stand at the Salon de la Maquette in Paris this Saturday, in build-up and kit form (I’ve seen both). Nice model, really. Not available yet but very soon, in May. Price between 20 and 30 euros.
About the other SAI’s models: I’ve seen the Estafette (van, mini-bus, gendarmerie) in many shops here in Paris and at the Salon, in build up form. Price always around 30/35 euros. I’ve also seen the Renault Galion (around 50 euros) and the Saviem JL20 (also around 50 euros), all in build up form.

About the Peugeot 505: I’ve seen it at SAI’s stand at the Salon de la Maquette in Paris this Saturday, I have seen the picture of the showcase at the Paris Salon where the models were presented. In that picture the they look quite good. Sylvain, you have seen them with your eyes, are they well dimensioned?

Sylvain, you have seen them with your eyes, are they well dimensioned? Seems to be. Its size seems to be well proportioned and the details seem to be fine. Really a nice model (even if I’m not a great admirer of the real car ;D ).

Looking at the frontpage shot of the SAI 505s, the model seems somewhat out of proportion to me - the passenger compartment is too long and the hood is too short. The 505 is not a cab-forward design.
Doesn't matter, I still want one. Or a half-dozen, to be more truthful.

Yes, but the day I went to the Salon de la Maquette, on my way to the subway station, already thinking of the pictures I will take of this SAI model I was sure to see, guess what car I’ve seen parked on the corner: a 505! ;D I should have a better look at it.

It's available now ... for a picture of a kit go to: www.mfredrichmodelle.de => SAI 1/87 => Peugeot andere 1/87. I didn't expect it to be metal.

I didn't expect it to be metal. I didn't, either. And I am pretty sure SAI told me at Toy Fair it would be resin. Curiouser and curiouser... Christian, thanks for the heads-up! Marc
