The latest issue of Model Auto review is now available online at www.zeteo.com. Just select the Model Auto Review button and follow through. It is entirely free and a labour of love by editor and contributors. All are welcome to read part or all at no cost. Model Auto Review was available as a UK subscription based magazine covering all scales for the last 32 years but has now become web only. Enjoy.

Maz,
thanks for the update. I appreciate all the hard work your are putting into MAR, and although I usually hardly stray off 1/87 I enjoy browsing all the pages.

Once again, thank you Maz. A very enjoyable read and a welcome change from the usual fragmented instant communication that tries to pass as (modelling) journalism these days.
Since you are looking for suggestions, I would offer the vague idea that MAR could be even better if it was presented more as a magazine and less as a traditional website, but I don't really know how that could be done.

BTW I had initially missed your comment Christian. We struggled long and hard on what format to use. We could have used one of those pseudo book tools but in the end we thought that it was too constraining and they perform badly on small screens etc. So we have tried to create a format that nods to a magazine with the previous and next navigation but offers the index to allow people to hop around if they want.
We continue to experiment.

I agree, those book tools are nothing to write home about.
Thanks for MAR 280! I especially liked the articles on the John Day Daimler Conquest and the Brazilian partwork series. Some inspiration for 1/87 there.

Daryle Toney is getting up to steam getting new moulds done now for john day range. Good that oxford sales of 1:87 have been good enough to do more. I will try to get back making up some 1:87 kits and writing about them soon though editing takes a lot of time.

On his site he says 00/4mm. That's 1:76th Scale. I'm really interested in 1/87 models with the same appearance.

Sorry if I caused confusion. John Day models are of course OO scale to go with British railway modelling. I was intending to work on a couple of 1:87 kits from other makers. To be honest only Jens Muller, Brekina and Neo seem to make 1:87 models of British vehicles. Its the old issue of what scale railway modellers who are the main market place want and OO dominates here. Perhaps when 3D printers really take off artisan ranges will use CAD /CAM techniques to offer the same models in both scales.

My Morris J4 and Ford Consul kits are both based on John Day models, by the way. And a few of Jens' british models were based on masters from me, so it's a small active group anyhow.
