Received today from BHOH two Audi Q5's from Schuco; I was very pleased with this SUV and it was a very good buy in today's high-priced market. How many colors does Schuco usually produce? It is all over here in Chicagoland in gray, black, and white in addition to the silver offered. I'll take 2 of each color please!

Just bought at a local hobby shop a International Prostar cab (brown & dark grey) with double 28' trailers. Very modern paint scheme. Also an Atlas Ford Explorer white w/yellow rotating light on top, plain white. (Local hobby shop has been putting the Explorers on clearance sale; and, I have all the plain colors not for a railroad). Santa is coming through this year; certainly a contrast with me struggling with the flooded basement last year about this time. have fun, buy more Fords, Swamp Daddy

I have found a FAR combination. The trailer from Haxo and the semi from l' Obsidienne. The trailer is for Calberson livery.

Dear All:
A little story first.
By 1970 in Greece, near the main Port,I first saw a real Tempo Matador pickup for the very first time.I found it interesting, and one my Uncles mentioned that it was related to the Volkswagen Van (Kombi).I was not sure what that meant, but when I saw another,in the mid-1970's,I had my Uncle's words on my mind.
Never saw one in the United States, but Georgano's book explained how these Tempos would use Volkswagen engines (that is what I remember reading) until Volkswagen did not wanted to supply these engines any longer.
My first Tempo miniature was Siku's green van at the George's show;it gave me instant memories of the pickup I saw twice. And,as a week ago,I received Epoche 1/87 Tempo Matador pickup with Taraupalin cover, which again, gave me some more memories.A nice model of a vehicle I consider a classic.

Received my Classic Metalworks 1955 Ford sedans from Walthers on Friday. So... How do they look, Jim - fairly accurate? I didn't even realize they were out on the market now, so I'll have to order a couple... Al Carter

Received my Classic Metalworks 1955 Ford sedans from Walthers on Friday. So... How do they look, Jim - fairly accurate? I didn't even realize they were out on the market now, so I'll have to order a couple... Al Carter The body lines and proportions on the 55 Fords look spot on. Paint colors look right based on a couple 1:1 55 Fords I know in my area. Body and chassis are plastic. Some of my cars appear to have some "orange peel" in the paint, but you have to look really close to see the paint finish isn't quite as smooth as it could be. The rear wheels didn't roll without help on any of the ones I received (wheel hubs probably just installed too tightly to the chassis). All the 55's have the dog dish type hubcaps on body color rims, and the hubcap centers are painted silver with red centers, but it doesn't look like the silver paint fully covers the full dog dish hubcap. A fine tip brush and a little additional silver paint would improve the look of the wheels. Over all, they actually look really good, but not quite as nice as CMW's Ford Country Squire and Country Sedan wagons (wheels and tires and paint all look better on the wagons). My biggest gripe on the 55's is that many of the tires don't fit well and need additional trimming. I do hope the paint is a bit smoother on the next group of 55's that get released in a few months. I'm still looking forward to the two tone yellow and white and two tone light blue/dark blue 55's which are part of the second group of 55's to be announced. Heres a link to a page with photos of my CMW Fords on my layout in a thread on another forum. I find it difficult to post pictures to this Forum. www.modelrailroadforums.com/forum/showthread.php?29291-Crazy-idea-what-do-you-think/page18

Just received a Schuco 911 Turbo in 'concept black', and I have to say the real model looks far better than the photos show. I ordered it from a guy in Hong Kong for $3.99 USD + $4.00 USD shipping (he won't combine shipping). I thought I might be getting a NIB model, but it was 'loose' and well wrapped. There is another Ebay seller with the exact same photos selling these supposedly out of the US for about $18 USD with free shipping, but my guess is he just drop ships from the guy in Hong Kong--buyer beware because there might not be a case or box! The seller from HK had another offer of the same thing today, so I ordered another one for backup. It stated he had 2, but since he won't combine shipping, I did not want to spend $16 for two loose cars, but if no one orders it, I might just end up doing that anyway since I wouldn't have saved anything. It seems like he gets hold of them every now and then, because a few weeks ago, I had bought the only one on offer, and fast forward a few weeks, he had two today (now one left).
