Neo Scale Models, from the Netherlands, began two years ago with a line of 1/43 beauty resin models never made before. So, in their catalogue you could find unexisting models or specific versions of existings cars. After the 1/43 line they began with the 1/18, and now, I have seen that in their web page they have added a button to a future 1/87 selection. The list is still empty, but sounds good. ;D www.neoscalemodels.com/categories.asp?language=GB

Dear Albert and all,
Yes, I was looking at their excellent website last night and noticed a 1:87 button. Nothing as yet, but why would you add that if you were not going to use it ? The models from NEO (1:43 scale anyway) are very good and some real nice ones coming out e.g. Ford Granada Mk I coupe, Jenson Interceptor, Volvo 262C coupe, but the prices have just recently shot up from around £30 to £50 recently. In Euros, thats about the same (30 Euros to 50 Euros) with the crashing value of Sterling!
Lets hope some nice 1:87 scale models appear soon and at a price that is worth it and affordable.
Thanks, Gary
PS: Bill C - if you read this, nice to see you back with your valuable contributions. I was missing your insider detail on our scale and Masterpiece.

Oh wow! They make some scarily exciting models, Alvises and such. If they make even a tenth of the things they offer in 1:43 I will go broke for sure. They're even working on no less than three different Monteverdi models!!! A Safari, a Hai, and a 375. Those I'll buy in any scale.
The Saab 99 EMS is also a winner. And maybe they will offer those first gen M5 wheels in 87th scale?

I send them an e-mail for more information.
Her there answer:
Of course it is in Dutch, but he says: Yes we are developing some 1:87 models. In a short time we will inform you about them. (On this forum too) The models will be as interresting, also in price, as the other scales.

That's excellent news. I have often looked at their impressive bigger scale models and wished that they would consider our scale. Every one of their 1/43 models would be welcome in 1/87.

That's two very good news! First than Neo starts offering 1/87 models, as their 1/43 models are fabulous. And then that they will announce their models here. The more the manufacturers take part of modeller's forums, the better it is for our scale!

Hello: Good news indeed as their choices for 1/43 scale are very interesting. They seem to make the models that no body thinks about (check the Mercedes models). I could buy at least 10 models from their 1/43 if they graduated to 1/87. They might be influenced by the success of Spark/Redline .The quality for their models in other scales is excellent so why not go for this scale. I just hope the price is reasonable. Regards

"hofan" might just have hit the nail on the head: you might expect the same approach as in their 1/43-line and yes, they might definitely be influenced by Spark/Redline (= also Bizarre) since the 1/43-models come from the same factory..... JanS www.ho-modelautoclub,nl

Dear All,
Most excellent news. Very excited by this development. Thanks and well done to Dutch Art for asking and thanks for translation. Struggle with German let alone Dutch too.
Yes, as mentioned earlier and totally agree with Sylvain, the 1/43 scale models are fabulous and like hofan, often making the more slightly unusual models.
If representatives from NEO do read this forum as may well be the case, please, please wish list for 1:87 conversions:
- Volvo 262c Coupe (just bought the 1:43 scale model - most excellent model) - Ford Granada MK I Coupe (1/43 scale model on order and a great looking and under-rated car) - Reliant Scimitar GTE (lovely looking car ahead of its time) - Daf 55 (its about time we had a decent ready made Daf in 1:87 scale) - Jenson Interceptor SIII (a must for 1:87 scale classic cars, a real beauty)
All the other 1/43 scale models NEO do can follow but these would be the 'must haves'.
Thanks, Gary

Yeah the Jenson is a real beauty, as is the Granada Coupé. But also many younger models are exciting. Wouldn't that Chevy be a nice model? :-) Should be large enough.

NEO scale models is working on 1:87 scale models in the same way as we do in our 1:43 and 1:18 scale models. The quality and modelchoice will be of NEO quality. Be surprised of the modelchoice and interesting pricepoint. One thing I would like to clear is that we have our own factory that makes the products. We used to distribute Spark and Red line , but stopped this about 2 yrs ago. We make all models including the 1:87 ourselves.
The 1:87 market has a lot of opportunities and we really look forward to make the cars we ( and you I hope ) like. We try to build in some extra features to make it even more interesting.
Within a limited period of time we will announce the first products that are under development...
Best regards,
Jaap van Dijk Managing Director REPLICARS bv

Please excuse my ignorance, but are these vehicles assembled and painted resin? They look excellent, and they look like plastic. This is great news and I wouldn't mind seeing an American version of the Chevrolet ambulance with red/white lights and possible generic markings.

This is an exciting development indeed. I'd love to see their Ford Capri III in 1:87. If Neo decides to do it, it will likely be the best looking Capri in 1:87, besting the Herpa Capri II by a long shot, as well as the ancient (but still nice) Wiking Capri I. Crossing my fingers (and putting in my request for the Capri III)!

Please excuse my ignorance, but are these vehicles assembled and painted resin? Dear Vito, Yes, they are. All these are completed resin models perfectly painted and with amazing details. Some 1/43 collectors say that some models are even better than those from Spark.
