Hi to all the few left here: Stoney Mountain castings has new 1953 Packard Mayfair models in both 2 and 4-door HO scale now out. And in both clear and white resin. I ordered them and they are on the way.

More from Stoney Mountain in the Packard line. Newest release is the 58 Packard Hawk model. This was the last year of Packard production and was made at the Studebaker factory. A rare model in real life and available in HO in clear and white resin. Darn, they skipped around those wonderful 55 and 56 giant cars. Their previous release before the 58 was the 53 Packard Mayfair.

Thanks for the heads-up! The '58 is an odd choice as Packards go, but when you already have a fitting Studebaker ... A good opportunity to point out that Sylvan Scale Models also has new Packards available as of October: 1947 Clipper 2-door, 4-door, and 4-door taxi.

Though I don't have any, Shapeways 3d printed models have a number of Packard models; their prices are too high for me but they are available.

Oxford Diecast is releasing a 1942 Packard Clipper Touring Sedan. Elegant car I think.

Presuming it’s this model that’s referred to? 1942 Packard Clipper Touring Sedan / Product Code: 87PC42001Well, the full-scale original was OK. On the other hand, I personally am not so fond of the models from Oxford Diecast as I think their castings are too coarse. On the other hand, it is not so easy to cast delicate details in metal so some things may be excused. Here, plastic is actually a better choice for crisp castings, provided that the manufacturer chooses the right kind of plastic material. Preferably then something that is stable over time. On the other hand, there is also zinc pest/zinc rot to be considered as it affects die-cast zinc models.
