Lee, my local hobbyshop says I am going through RTV like it's water. I am having fun and could have as many as 25 new prototypes done by spring......that's a third of what I have done over the last fifteen years.
Thanks for the support.

I am having fun and could have as many as 25 new prototypes done by spring No wonder I am losing track a little bit. I went through your lists again and am very pleased to see that you are going further into the sixties with your prototypes. And I had totally overloooked your Econoline project, nice to see you're also going for a van. Thanks for the pictures you posted, it looks very promising what you are doing.

Dear Joe:
You made another of my favorites - the Ford F-100 pick up 1959 - albeit I love the 1960 model. In Brazil, the latter was offered until 1970 or 1971 and had undergone three cab changes, aimed for the Brazilian market only.I have a plastic toy of a dump truck with one of this cab changes (c1967).

I am new to this messageboard and have read all of the posts. This process seems encouraging. Will any of these vehicles be available when the process is perfected? I am in dire need of many 1960's cars for a layout and they just aren't available anywhere. I had already started looking for this product and have been buying a few models to strink. Rather than take on the task myself, I would be more than willing to buy. If not, then I have no other choice but to buy 1/24 or 1/76 and make my own.

Sam Even better, fill whatever gaps Joe has left (not much, at his current pace) and then trade! I would love to trade casting for casting. That is, if I am able to provide equal quality castings to all of you...

Guys: I am managing about 30 different projects all at once, but hope to complete all by March. I will be interested in trading and selling on EBAY complete kits. I will also be doing several trucks. Chester, you should see the First pass at a White within several weeks. Based on the Winross 1/64 model, I will be making the 1/87 solid cast mold this weekend. I have been checking the 87thscale wish list too and hope to have several ready by April. I have been thinking about almost all of Bill C. wish list items. Some are already in progress. If anybody is interested in coordinating with me, I think we can nail a number of early sixties American protoypes. I have just recently purchased several Motorifics which I will put through the Shrinkage process: 1964 Caddy 1963 Chevy Impala 1963 Pontiac Gran Prix. I also just pickup a junk Dinky 1958 Dodge Coronet and 57 DeSoto. Bill C. I think you'll like the results. Please keep in mind everything I do is done with the intent of selling a limited number of kits to help cover the cost of material and purchased models to shrink. I am still having fun and feel I can finally create a significant number of American prototypes in the scale we all love.

OK Joe. Finally someone is doing something about the gap in the '60s cars and trucks. I think what we need here is a place that all of us can get to that will show what models are in progress and which ones others want to tackle. Is that possible? I am totally new to this but I have looked at Alumilites sight and think I can handle that part. It's the shrink process that is going to take a learning curve. I will be ordering a starter kit from Alumilite to see if I can make some duplicates of what I already have in HO. If I can make decent duplications with that, I will proceed to buying some Hydroshrink, or whatever it's called. Since I am doing a 1960s layout, I'll need just about anything manufactured from '60 to '70. It would be really nice to have a website that deals with the shrinking and duplicating process for training of those of us that are beginners and posting what we each have for sell or swap. Maybe if I have a studebaker and someone else has a chevy impala, we can swap instead of just buy and sell. So folks, lets get a site we can consolidate our "wants" and "I can do" and see if we can start helping each other out with the '60s gap. Anyone got any ideas??

Great!!! Ok, if we're gonna do this then I need to know some info. Which scale is best to downsize? I'm not familiar with all that is available in the sizes other than HO. It appears there are a lot of cars in 1/24 and that will take at least two shrinks, is that correct? Will 1/64 go down to 1/87 if I keep track of the shrink process as it progresses? So many questions... I will rely on your expertise for the correct mixtures of Shrink and water. Maybe also drying technics.. So, you are going to be our mentor in this huge project since you are the resident inhouse expert. As soon as you let me know what scale I should start with, I'll buy as complete a series of Chevy II Novas to duplicate. I guess you noticed, that' my favorite Chevrolet. I have a '65 SS. I volunteer for the Nova's.... Oh, btw, let's not spread this around to much. All of those auto manufactures will be wanting some kind of royalty payment and I ain't a gonna pay it... So let's get started. Sam Helena, Ga.
