Regarding the bubbles, I saw mention somewhere of using distilled water to minimize bubbles. Also, colder water is supposed to work better.
I realized that the Hydroshrink company is located only a short subway ride from my job, so I will try to go there on Monday and see what they can tell me. I don't know if it's a store or just a factory, so we'll see if I can get anything there.

This is just great, Joe ! It is just amazing what you are capaple to bring out in 1/87 scale. But please be aware that most of the older US Cars from Dinky and Corgi Toys (1950s- early 1960s) are rather in or near 1/50 scale than 1/43, so these should be reduced to a ratio less than 50%. Further good luck with all these exciting projects. I can hardly wait to see the final results. You can count me in for a lot of kits in 2007 ! Best regards, Bjarte

Bjarte, its pretty clear when comparing the Dinkys to other 1/43 models the Dinky's are clearly smaller. The funny thing is that the Dinkys appear to have shrunk to exactly 1/87 and the 1/43 models seem to shrink to about 1/76.
Made molds last night for eight new models. I am trying to get as many models shrunk to 1/87 as I can. To date about 25, I will hollow out and finish over the next three months.
My hobby shop just got a delivery of about $600.oo worth of Allumilite mold. I have just worked out a discount. I am going to start more 1/25 reductions over the next week.

Hollwed out all of the cars depicted in the pcture in the previous page.
Made a hydroshrink castnig of the following 1/25 scale models
1960 Mercury Commuter Wagon 1960 Oldsmobile Dynamic 98
Thes will take about 3-4 weeks to shrink to 1/50 then I will shrink again.
about 20 other models are in various states of shrinking. The 1960 Ford Falcon wagon is almost to 1/87. Hope to do more mold making in 1/87 next weekend. Will redo the 1960 FOrd Wagon, 67 Plymouth Fury and 62 Cadillac.

Joe, read your posts and look forward to the photos. I remember when I was in High School in the 1970's, a woman from my hometown drove a 1955 (I think) Packard as a daily driver. A boy I went to school with had a '65 Mustang and made a left turn into her path totaling both cars and killing her. It was a sad day for me. She was a very nice lady.

All of the picture models are hollow cast masters which have not been completed or detailed. The last step before final molds are made.
Just poured the RTV molds for six more 1/87 solid cast masters.
Included in the six is a 1967 Oldsmobile budgie diecast. Pictures tomorrrow of the six resulting models.

The other may be ready for casting within 48 hours. Hollowed out 65 Pontiac Bonneville and solid casting 60 Ford Ranch Wagon 1961 Rambler American, still shrinking its at about 1/43 scale. Needs another week or of two of curing before the second mold and final phase of shrinking to 1/87 can be started. Still having fun!

I, for one, am very impressed with what you are doing Joe. It looks like you will be buying resin by the 55 gallon drum now. ;D Keep up the fantastic work.
