For my part, I definitely agree with you, it's not a good model, the most important problem beeing the inaccuracy of the character line on the side. But it was a good choice by Brekina for the french modellers, especially the railroad modellers of course. And, as it was announced almost two years before it was released, it has been really expected. You say they could be interesting by doing a 403 instead of a break version of the 504? Interesting, even if, for my part, I definitely prefer, if they go on doing french cars (which I hope), that they leave apart Peugeot and Renault to look towards Simca: very, very few Simca's available in our scale, no 1100 for example, a model most wanted here, and still no Aronde 9 or 1300, which is incredible. But that's another story. To come back to your models, about SV models, I remember seeing them many, many years ago, but not for a long time. And nothing since. I regret not having bought some then, especially the convertible, and convertible sedan, and I've never seen one on eBay when I looked for it. You're really lucky to have found this one. If that could help, I've an extra grille from my 202 by SAI, their best model, to my point of view. I don't remember the SV models version enough to compare them, but one thing I find interesting is the way they have solved the problem of the front lights behing the grille, on the 202 (and the 402), which is much more adequate than on the SV models version. They have the good idea to give two grilles with each kit, in case you've problem curving the first one. So, if you've interested by the extra one, send me a PM.

And I bought the five or six 504s I have in France... I really don't want to bash the model. But Brekina offered so many top-notch models this year that I doubt the sales of the 504 are so outstanding in comparision to convince the people behind Brekina to overthink their position about the Break. In addition to that, the model is not their best one, which will cost them the one or other sale. That is of course only my opinion. But when they released the Ford Taunus (Knudsen) they left it open if they will do the Kombi model depending on the sales of the sedan and coupe. They never did the Kombi arguing the sales weren't strong enough. Now they're saying they are not interested in the Break right from the beginning. I just think, that sales would have to be pretty convincing to change that position.

Drats, I always wanted a Knudsen Turnier. I reaaally wanted a 2-dr sedan as well, but I guess I'll have to start kitbashing; that would seem the most unlikely iteration.
As for the Break, it seems like a safe bet. Looks better than the MFM and I doubt there will be a Brekina, although the French market could make things topsy-turvy, especially if SAI places a big order.

It was an official statement directly by one of the Brekina executives on the mo87 board. It is a rather word-by-word quote that they would rather do a new model and suggested the 403 as an example. I sure would take his word for it but I think even the model is not up to Brekina quality it will sell real good and they might reconsider. that will take time though. I didn't know that though I drove both of them for some time. regards

Yes, there's always hope. I just wanted to share the info I had, so everybody can make up his own mind. I envy you for your Peugeot experiences. I would probably have owned one myself if they weren't that hard to find over here. Well, maybe some day. There's always hope.

Time for another lifesign of me. Here's what I've been working on over the last few weeks and months when I found the time: Pegaso "Cabina Cuadra" (ok, already a bit older, but I started to refine this cab recently) Willème TG AEC Ergomatic cab Scammel Crusader (also a bit older, but I think I haven't shown pictures yet. The trailer is kitbashed using two 30 feet trailers from Lima)

To avoid any confusion, the two AEC pics show the model before and after I added the grille detail. The cab is shrunk from a 1/76 model which had no grille detail so I took the grille from another model in 1/80 scale and shrunk that one too. I cast those pieces in colored resin and cut them so slim that they would fit onto the other cab. I also want to do a Leyland version of the cab once the AEC is finished but that one requires a new interior and slimmer fenders as the track width on the Leyland is narrower.

Looks great Peter,Id definitely be interested in the Ergomatic Leylands and AECs.The first trucks I grew up riding around in were the older LAD cab Leylands,then the more modern Ergomatic Leylands,they were king of the road back in the day! That Scammell Crusader looks awesome too,I sure hope you make a daycab version,Id be interested in a few of those if you do.Have you done anymore on the MW ERF,and Fuso FP/FV cab?

Here are a few side projects that I am working on from time to time. I shrunk an old Fuso cab from Tomica Dandy and constructed two new bonnets for the cab for two heavier types of vehicles. I have constructed an milled the bonnets in 2-D as a learning object where I work and put all the pieces together in the end. Sill have to round a few sharp edges and fill a few little holes, but all in all it's already getting somehere. I like the little ivory colored one on the right best. Seriously though, you have put that milling machinery to good use and I find these bigger Japanese trucks quite fascinating.
