So now it's time for me to join. But sorry, no pics at the moment, I destroyed my camera. Finally I began working on the Prometheus87 Citroen Belphegor kit. It's really fun working with it, all fits together perfectly. I'm reworking the cab a little bit, but otherwise it will be built box-stock. I found some nice Roco wheels (from the Renault G260) that look good on it. I guess it will not take very long to build this one up. Another one worth telling is a conversion from the Brekina Opel Rekord C to a fastback coupé. I bought this one for parts and a Wiking Coupé for a Dodge Charger tryout, but I changed my plans for this project. I was happy to find out that the glazing of the Brekina model can be removed by carefully destroying it. I cut off the roof just behind the frame of the front window and cut off the trunk lid and am replacing it with the Wiking parts. The Wiking roof has to be narrowed a little bit, but besides of that, everything fits like it's meant to be. So far, it looks nicer than I thought it would.

Nice, a fastback Rekord is something I have considered myself. I just feel bad modifying those nice Brekinas, since the finish is so superb, better than what I could ever achieve on my own.

Yeah, I fully understand. But this one had a scratched front window and the printings were so-so, that made the decision very easy. I bought it for its wheels and I just couldn't throw the rest away, that's why I came up with the idea at all. I've replaced the wheels with some of the early (?) ones from Eko with the hubcap styling, looks nice!

So here are some pictures: First, the Opel: The Citroen: And two Renaults I've managed to do a little this and that again: The Alpine is the Majorette model, it was lengthened and widened. The Fuego is from a little wind up toy from the Kinder surprise eggs. It was much too wide, so I had to cut it to the right shape. Also I did some chopping to the roof and reshaped the wheel arches and the side of the body (roughly up to now). I usually paint my models while I'm working on them to see air bubbles and imperfections and just to see how everything will turn out. The different layers of paint will be sanded and scratched off before I finally paint them, that should make a smooth surface. While I was in the act of taking pictures, I took some more of some other models: Eko & Haubrich Rover Eko Dodge & Superba Studebaker

Nice job, you have been very active, it seems. I like the speakers in the Opel, nice touch.

I made pictures of my Esagamma project for an e-mail friend and I thiought I could also post them here for those who are still interested in it. The first pic shows both, the old one you alredy know and the new one. I'm glad I decided to do the whole thing again because IMO the new one is turning out quite nice. Have a look for camparison: I still haven't used any putty on it and the front and the roof section still need a little care but I think it is on the right way.

Just found this older picture on my PC: There's a real good model in that Furuta thing and now it scales out at 1/88,512 (well, circa..).

Nick, this is an actual project, it's not finished yet. But there's some progress compared to the old picture, the bottomplate has been fitted, the edges have been sanded and the wheels of a Miber Celica have been added.

Hi Peter, great work the Furuta in this way. Clever how you led the stripes to enlarge them. Hope we will see the finished model. Think you have lots of work in finishing all this models. nick ingmar

Doing it again has been rewarding for you Peter. Not quite yet, but I'm getting closer and closer. I'm now nearly at the point I was with my old cab, only the bumper is still missing I haven't built that one yet. Would be a good point for a comparision again but I didn't think of that when I took the pictures. The exterior is really coming near completion now, only a few things are missing like some doorlines and a little sanding here and there. I won't be so fond of the interior finish, so I hope that won't be as tametaking as the rest of the cab.

New pictures to show you I'm still there. First, here's the Lancia again. Tha cab is already a resin casting I made, I thought it might be better to fit the interior to a casted piece rathen than the master. I'm now basically working on the interior, but the cab still has some spots to be done, as you can see. Still trying to get the bumper in the right shape. Then we have a newer project here, which was tickling my mind for some time, a Leyland T45 Roadtrain. I found a Lledo model at a Swapmeet and, to my surprise, it looked much like it was in 1/87 scale. I didn't have the money then but I found another on Ebay. The scale and the basic shape of the model are right but the window lines and some other details looked plain wrong so I casted the piece to rework. First I reshaped the side windows, cut the cab at the door level in two pieces to have an upper and under piece and fitted a casting of a Leyland badge I took off an old Matchbox model, it fits perfectly in size! I also reworked the headlights, it looks a lot better already. I'm now trying to figure out a way to get the roof structure and the back of the cab closer to the original The last pic for today is another Furuta lenght conversion, nothing much but it does a lot the the look and scale of the model. Took the wheels from a LifeLike Chevy Citation, they do the job very well until I find something better. The body still needs some sanding.
