As far as I know there does'nt exist a 1:87 model of the 1972 Sunbeam 1250 TC/Hillman Avenger Stationwagon.
Or is there, somewhere in good old England, anyone who can help me to make my dream come true?
Maybe a small-serie producer "will see the light" and will build me one!

Dear Dutchart:
If you ever heard of MAR (Model Auto Review) Magazine, you will see that they been covering a range of 1/76 scale model kits made in the UK that feature a good amount of Hillmans.
This is the problem of miniature British cars: many been and are being done in 1/76. Personally, I heard of no Hillmans in HO. Their Avenger was built under different names in two continents (Dodge 1800 of Brazil and Peykan of Iran)..Further, as the American cars from the same period, there is almost no interest to model British vehicles from the 1970's.

Dear Christian:
It seems to be. It comes to prove how versatile - and how much it was used - this vehicle was and deserves to have more models of it. I think, but I am not sure, that there are more variations of it.

The 180 is quite a bit larger. It may share some underbody componentry, but that doesnt really help us... The Avenger was also sold as the "Plymouth Cricket" stateside, I have never ever seen one. To scratchbuild an Avenger Wagon, I should think that maybe the Herpa Opel Ascona Voyage would be the best start?

Skunk, If Brekina will also make the Ford Taunus Staionwagon this would be much better to scratchbuild one!

If Brekina will also make the Ford Taunus Staionwagon this would be much better to scratchbuild one! They recently denied having any intent to produce it.

Christian,
I just logged out to take a look at the listing, and the first thing I saw was "rumours for 2005".
There might be a Turnier after all? And a Coupé.
Of course it are just rumours but still.......
We'll wait and see.

There might be a Turnier after all? Since Mr Hartung (Brekina boss) personally denied it, it is at least very doubtful.

Finaly Lansdowne will produce it 1n 1:43. I'd like to schrinck the model till 1:87 of course but I don't have the experiance to do so. The Lansdowne model is hand build, so it will be pretty expansive. Not realy a model to do experiments on! Or is this shrinking risk-less? Cor.

Reading this thread, I'm beginning to wonder if I saw a 1/43 scale version made by Vangards on my travels. I'll get back to you on that one!

I suppose that if you have photos and dimentions of the prototype, as well as the 1/43 scale version as a basis, you could get a passable 1/87th scale version. I had a look at the corgi website and I thought that I wouldn't mind doing the same thing for an Austin Allegro, as my father went through several of them in the 1980's!
