Not only that, but the 1/87 Vehicle Club should have a very interesting prize in its prize pool this weekend.
It has been very hush-hush. The deal was made last week and details are still being worked out.

First, I hope that Ron is feeling better and gets to a full recovery from his illness. Second, I can't wait to hear of the news from RPS as it sounds very promising.
Bill, welcome back stranger! You've been gone too long.

You know Mstar that would be great. I had actually forgot about that being a possibility. Ron would make a good distributor for Masterpiece. Maybe thats why Bill's being so hush hush. Is it Bill is it you can spill the beans now the Amherst show is winding down today please. ;D

Greetings, Everyone!
I'm sorry that RPS was not at the show. After a few days' rest, I'm happy to report that all is well. As Bill has indicated, we do have some exciting news, including a tentative agreement to bring the long awaited Challenger and the Dodge Journey to market. These are beautifully molded ABS models, comparable to our Ford pickups and SUVs.
Before the Dodge vehicles, we will also introduce the 1950 Ford Fordor, and a new run of the contemporary Step Van. The latter will be available plain white and with various decorations, including the popular I.C. Sparks livery as used on the Ford F-Series. Previously, there had been some speculation that the Step Van was oversize, but according to measurements that we took from similar vans, it is quite appropriate for 1/87. There are indeed smaller, lighter duty vans on the roads, but the model is correct for heavier fleet variants.
Because of some changes in licensing, we are experiencing some minor delays with the crew cab pickups. Of course, the Chinese New Year holidays must also be considered. Nevertheless, we expect to have them in production soon, along with the initial E-Series models.
It is my understanding that the backordered items, including undecorated pickup truck kits, new 52" light bars, wheel sets, and high rail sets are to be in our Warwick warehouse this afternoon. We should be shipping to our dealers by end of the week.
We will get our Website updated with photos and additional information in a few days.
Best regards,
Ron

Will the step van line include the fire department version that was announced but never released? I'm not sure if it was supposed to be a water rescue unit or utility vehicle.
Also, will the new LED bars be available in various colors similar to the old bars?

Ron,
Great to hear you are doing well and I must say I'm excited! Also, a tad confused. You're bringing out the 2009 Masterpiece Challenger and a newly tooled 2011 Challenger? Believe me, I'm not complaining, just very pleasantly surprised if that's the case. Oh, the IC Sparks step van will be huge for me as it will find a home on the business with the same name.
Thank you for bringing some much needed excitement to this hobby and I'll need to start saving some money!

Ron,
I echo everyone's sentiments about wishing you well.
Very exciting news at last for American modelers. You can count me in for the Ford, Challenger and Journey, at least one of each color.
I am also anxiously awaiting the Ford E series. If they are anything like your previous Ford models, they will be gems!

You're bringing out the 2009 Masterpiece Challenger and a newly tooled 2011 Challenger? Vito, I understand the 2011 Challenger looks exactly like the 2009 model, so what RPS will be selling will be the model developed by Masterpiece and originally announced as the 2009 Challenger. I understand RPS will label the box 2011 Challenger. So just one model, but a very welcome one - at last. I am very glad to hear 2009/11 Challenger, 2009 Journey and the 1950 Ford will also see the light of the day under the RPS brand. Marc S.

Marc,
Thanks for the clarification as it is appreciated. Yes, I've been asking for these vehicles from Masterpiece forever and for RPS to take them under their label is great news. I'll buy 4-5 of each color from the Challenger and Journey and hopefully they will be in hobby shops soon.
