Ron,
Can you please tell us if the Ford program is still going forward or did Ford raise their licensing fees too? Why can't the 1950 Ford from Masterpiece come out?

Does it mean that there is totally no chance for the Dodge models at all? I've been long waiting for the Challenger, so disappointed!!!

This unfortunate turn of events affects only the Masterpiece-heritage Ford models; it has no impact on any of our own models, including future RPS models. Perhaps Masterpiece got a better deal with another party, or just got cold feet. We had an agreement, did what they requested, and sadly they still left the table without explanation.
Our Expedition SSP models will be arriving late summer or early fall, and the new crew cab F-Series trucks, some complete with pickup box caps, will be right on their heals. We'll be posting graphics for the crew cabs soon. Caps will also be available separately. We will also be restocking the popular ladder and toolbox sets, as well as several new wheel sets.
The first E-Series models are on track for early next year, and the F-650/750 next year, as well. Since we currently have the licenses for the 1950 Fordor, 1970 Ford, etc., we'll look into making them on our own, but this may be risky. After all, duplicate tooling hurts everyone, e.g., Ricko and Masterpiece Chargers.
As far as the Dodge models are concerned, I see no viable scenario which would allow us to bring them to market. The licensing is a BIG deal breaker. We tried; I'm sure that Bill Cawthon can attest to that.

I'm looking forward to those Expedition SSPs and crew cab Ford pickups with caps.
Ron, what kind of bodies are planned for the Ford F-650s and 750s?

Ron,
Thanks for the reply and new info. How about the original Ford Taurus SHO for a future model? It would look great on 1980's layouts and the 80's could use some help!

Jeff,
The 650/750 series is planned to include a chassis/cab, box truck, flatbed wrecker, dump truck, fuel-oil delivery truck, and utility service truck. Their introduction will be staggered, and I'm certain that we'll be adding others.
Vito,
I'd also like to see the SHO; I had one at the time and I have fond memories of it. As everyone is aware, a couple of years ago Masterpiece had started on that model, and Bill and I collaborated to correct it and ensure its accuracy. As part of the now defunct cooperation, we assumed and received the licenses for the SHO, in addition to licensing for the other Masterpiece Ford models.
Accuracy and quality notwithstanding, I still think that there isn't enough aggregate-quantity interest in a sedan from that era. We have to produce a lot of models just to amortize the tooling, and I don't see it with a single-purpose vehicle.

According to Burbank's House of Hobbies' website, the Expeditions are due in the next month. Can't wait! Hopefully the Ford F pickups with caps will be out soon as well.

The utility cap and contoured camper cap are now shown on the Vehicle Accessories page. Not sure when these will be available. Hopefully soon.

There are new pictures posted on the 1-87 Vehicle Club website of a few of the finished Expedition SSP models: Campus Security; Dockside Marine Services; Fire Department EMS Supervisor; Sheriff/K9; and Independent News Channel 87. They all look really good! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the lineup. I would think they would be on RPS' website soon as well.
Expected delivery is by late December, as they are due to leave China very shortly, according to the website.

The Expeditions are now due to be released around the end of this month. All models are shown on the Burbank's House of Hobbies website, except the Battalion Chief's vehicle has the picture of the EMS version shown instead.

RPS just updated their website and I wasn't too thrilled with the fact that 4 categories have been eliminated. The one that really matters to me is the Ford F-650-750 series of medium duty trucks. Ron, have these been cancelled? Of course, the last remaining hope for a modern American car has just been wiped out too, that being the Lincoln Town car if the website is correct as it stands.
Ron, can you fill us in or am I being negative too soon? I'm really looking forward to the Expedition SSP trucks. I do like the new category, SUV. Let's try the 2005 Ford Explorer, one of the more popular emergency type vehicles in modern America. Hey, one can only hope!
