I'm looking for a US spec 64 Ford Falcon 4 door to go on my HO model railroad. I saw one listed in the forums (Al's favorites I think?) but couldn't find any pics or other info.
EKO has a 4 door Falcon, but it's the earlier 60-63 "Round Body" car. The Aussie Falcons are also the "Round Bodies", since they never had the US style 64-65's. Same with the South American Falcons.
Would any of the forum members have any info on a Falcon 4 door?
WHY do I want such an off the wall model? Simple, really... I own a 1:1 scale 64 Falcon Futura four door sedan.
"Buttercup"
So far, I have a few of my 1:1 rides in 1:87 scale. I've done our 84 Chevy van from a Trident model, I'm working on making my Dodge Club Cab pick up truck from a Roco kit, (but I need one more to make the extended cab). I've found my Mazda RX-3 (Furuta) and now I'm looking for the Falcon.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My only idea is to take a 1/64th scale 2 door, shrink it down to 1/87th, remove the tear drop hood scoop, and then change it into a 4 door model. Not a straight forward task but certainly possible.
That's an unusual surface you have it parked on there!

Welcome to the message board. That is a nice looking Falcon. Joe Fay did a resin casting of a 64 Ford Falcon coupe. Sometimes he sells on eBay as seller ID Superba. You also might be able to PM him from this messageboard.

Nice Falcon. When I was a kid, my parents bought a new yellow with tan interior Falcon just like that in 1964. Superba would be your only hope at this point, though Superba's 64 Falcon is a 2 door hardtop.

It is an unusual brickwork surface. It's the parking lots behind the main square in Senoia, GA. Makes for interesting photography at the car shows.

Where did your folks buy the Falcon? It is an unusual color combo for sure... it'd be cool if perhaps it was the same car!
I saw a reference here to a '64 four door sedan in 1/87, but it had no pics or other info. No idea if it was resin or plastic, US or Aussie spec, etc. I want to say it was listed under "Al's Favorites" IIRC.
EKO shows a 4 door sedan, but it looks like an earlier "round body" style, used from 60-63. As usual, the drawings for the EKO models leave something to be desired!

According to what I found on 87thscale.info doing a search, the 64 sedan is an "Al's Favourites", #099 Ford Falcon 4-door sedan 1964.
I did find a pic in a Focus catalog, but what is listed as a 64 four door sedan is picured as a 2 door hard top. (Typo maybe?)

RotorMy parents bought their 64 Falcon 4 door sedan from Hill and Sanders Ford in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, in March or April of 1964. in late 69 they traded it in on a new 69 Ford LTD at the same dealership. There is this 64-65 Falcon 2 door that is a one piece body. I believe it may be slightly smaller than 1/87 scale though. I have not seen one in person, but their 65 Chevelle wagon is a bit too small for HO scale. Its a package of 5 for the $12 I believe. Made by Plastruct. www.hobbylinc.com/htm/pls/pls93659.htm

Maybe good news. I sent Joe from Superba a message. He replied:
So there may be a 4 door Falcon in the near future! ;D
