Well I don't know if this is the right place for this but I was moving some images around in my computer and came across these and thought you guys might get a kick out of them. For about 28 or 29 years now I have driven in the Demolition Derby at our local fair. I do it once a year just to get my adrenalin fix for the year. It's a lot of work but it's great fun. These are some pics of the 2007 car I had. I did very well with it. I was able to advance to the final derby of the night by winning a heat. THis is the car I started with, a 1989 Ford Crown Victoria. This is me starting to pull the car apart. Here we are yanking that Ford motor out so we can graft in a Chevy motor and transmission. Okay the Chevy motor is in and now I'm adding my custom headers. LOL yeah, were rednecks... Here's the car done and ready for action. and here is what a tough bunch of country boys can do to it after 3 heats of derby... It was one of the roughest I was ever in but I loved every minute of it. It still ran but I lost my power steering, then my brakes, so I used the transmission as my brakes, then I lost reverse, then the front frame became so bent that it was binding a front wheel and I yanked so hard on the steering wheel that I busted the column, so no steering now! I had to shut her down. No matter, I still had a big grin on my face! Tom

Ford engines just don't seem to hold up in a derby. Once they get hot and they stall it's very hard to get them going again if at all. A Chevy motor (305) will run over 20 minutes with no rad or water. Also the original Ford motor was fuel injected. A carburated motor is much more reliable in a derby.

That's not Lark, is it? T the first glance I thought it to be an Opel Rekord, which would be odd. So what is it?

Do you mean the car in the weeds behind my finished derby car? If so it's a 1958 Chevy Belair. A former tennant left it there about 12-13 years a go. It's a project he never finished. A shame really because now the car is junk. I'm going to Ebay all the odds and ends off it and scrap the rest. I'm tired of looking at it every time I go over to the shop.
