Dear All,
Thanks Bill and Poathjunction for latest links and advice. Although not pure branded showrooms, you are both right that they can be adapted to be a showroom.
I like the Wallschlager motors kit. I can see some use for that one, definitely, though a little bias towards a United States type building, I think.
Thanks again, Gary

Hi All: Faller has an ultramodern garage with working lift compatible with their "Faller Car System". In fact I've seen this in some YouTube video in use. This is the generic one listed in geco65's original post.
It also has the rotating showroom turntable. working interior lights too.
With all these features it is not cheap, being $339.99 US. Now on sale by Walthers at $269.98
It is part number 272-130338 at Walthers. It is in the June sale catalog but I am sure you can find it on their website too. Too rich for my budget.
I am sure if you leave the 272 off you can also find it on the Faller website too.

Anyone after the Faller Mercedes dealership (part no 130344) better start looking fast as it is no longer listed on the Faller.de website, Walthers have no listing for it (not even "sold out or discontinued" so its like it never existed) and after quite a bit of websearching it is missing or "out of stock" at most of the online shops I found. Luckily I found one locally with 30% discount so I'm happy :-)
I have the 2007 Faller catalogue that doesn't indicate it was a limited edition, and the N scale version is still to be found in all the usual places. It's just the HO one that has mysteriously disappeared.

Dear All,
Although I said I wasn't a fan of paper/cardboard, I am quite impressed with the Peugeot garage, Keroliver. Nearly tempting.
With regard to the Faller Mercedes kit, I too have noticed its rapid demise. There used to be (say a year ago) quite a few sitting on shelves in model shops here in the UK, but now, very hard to find. I picked one up recently, last one, and paid a little over the odds, but I always wanted one to start my showroom project. I wish I had got it at 30% discount though!
As for the VAG autohaus showroom, have not seen that for sometime now. May have missed the boat on that one.
Thanks for all the help though guys, much appreciated, Gary

Hi: Interesting looking dealership; but, I wonder (depending on where you are) the cost of "safe" shipping.
I've had some very mixed results on buildings being shipped to me.

No longer in production, I don't think I saw this in any of the previous posts. From Walthers, Uptown Motors. I am sure it will turn up on EBAY

Nice layout. I saw it in 2005 while in Los Angeles for a trade show (that's also when I met Lee, Jerry and Nick).

My model car and trucks are an extension of my model railroad. i model BNSF but do not follow a strict prototype - I just try to make it plausible. Same thing with the cars - fact is - there are many more luxury and exotic cars available in HO than there are regular joe cars - so i always include a dealership to account for 10 lamborghinis on a 30 vehicle layout/ diorama. On my current layout the dominant vehicles are Malibu Porsches and Athearn, Herpa and Malibu Kenworths - so I have dealerships for both.

That Porsche dealership is one of the few I do not have; it always looks good. I guess I'll have to buy one.
And, if you like Lamborghini's why stop at 10. Even a small lot besides the dealership would hold 10-20 more of them. Even nicer if you repaint some of the Malibu's into other colors.

Unless your dealership is in Hollywood, there probably wouldn't be more than a handful of new Lambos in stock; mostly Gallardos with a few Murcielagos. The other cars on display would probably be used Diablos and Countaches as well as an assortment of other exotics so mix 'em up!
Lamborghini sells less than 100 car nationwide per month, so acres of inventory aren't likely.

For the record - I think I actually only have 2 lambos on the layout. I was only using the 10 figure lambo number as an example.
On my layout my dealership resides on the "main-street" of what is a bustling little city. There just happens to be a car show as well - up and down main street - to justify all of the other fancy rides. ;D

I was invited to the grand opening of the Lamborghini dealership in Houston (as a journalist, not as a potential customer). If you want to expand your Lambo collection, they had three Gallardo coupes, a Gallardo roadster, a pair of standard Murcielagos and one LP640. On the lot they had a couple of Diablos, a Countach, a Miura (which was just for show), a couple of Aston Martins, including a Vantage, and some Porsche 911s. There was also a Saleen S7 and a Maserati Spyder.
