I have seen mention in various threads of books, etc that are used. Lets list them all in one place so the rest of us can find them again.

MAZ - Modell Auto Zeitschrift, monthly magazine on nothing but 1/87th scale miniature models, in German. Good coverage of bashing and scratchbuilding efforts.
Modell Magazin - monthly magazine on scale cars with a slight bias towards Wiking, in German.
Der Maßstab - Herpa's bi-monthly consumer magazine on scale cars. Only Herpa's scale cars nowadays. In German.
Modell Fahrzeug - bi-monthly magazine on miniature and R/C models, with a focus on everything but 1/87th scale, or so it seems. In German.
Route 1-87 - the official publication of the 1/87 Vehicle Club, every four months, in English.
Model Auto Review - monthly British publication on scale cars, with the occasional 1/87th scale item, in English.

David Bontrager's 'A Truck Modelers Notebook' is reputed to be a pretty good source for info on guess what... tips and tricks are supposed to be amusing and helpful. Sorry, this info is all second hand, I haven't read it. See ad: www.1-87vehicles.org/Ads/ad_bontrager_ebook.php

Dear Sirs:
Classic Miniature Vehicles made in France,by Dr. Edward Force.Lists of French models, including HO vehicles.Photos from all lists;helpul source when the item is unknown.
There is a similar book about Made in Germany models, but I never had the opportunity to see it. There is no doubt that the HO models will be quite well covered with that book.

Dear Sirs:
I understand that they are not in business any longer but their catalog are a good source of research for HO. I am refering to Danhausen. This catalog does list small manufacturers as well such as Limo. Of course, vehicles of all scales are present at this source, but their HO listings are quite extensive too.

I understand that they are not in business any longer ... I am refering to Danhausen. Nick, Danhausen was temporarily out of business, and their brick-and-mortar business still is. However, there is a webshop at danhausen.de now. The people behind the Aachen model-car shop Danhausen concentrated on their own line of 1/43rd scale-cars a couple of years ago. These models were branded as Paul's Model Art first and Minichamps later. When these models became more and more of a success, Paul-Gunther Lang decied to close the shop's doors. Marc

Dear Marc:
Thank you for the info. I can say that I quite liked their catalogs; I do have the 1981 and 1989 editions.
Dear Sirs:
Tha catalogs from the manufacturers are also a good source of reference. Busch and Herpa issues a nice one every year; AWM once issued an issue that covered all of their models; Albedo issues and update sheet and Rietze catalog is quite nice as well. On the last couple of years I did not saw-here,in the US- any catalogs from Wiking but I am not assuming anything. Brekina's catalogs are also nice and they have articles about real vehicles and cover their new releases mostly. Boley's were difficult to get,but by now I can see these more often. These publications are a way to keep out with the manufacturer-what they did,are doing and intend to do. And if one of these ever gets out of business, they are a testimony of the manufacturer's existence.

Dear Sirs:
Altough 1/90 scale, the Matchbox vehicles that were molded at this scale were listed by the Matchbox Toys: the Universal years,by Charlie Mack.
A book on Johnny Lightning ( Tomart Price Guide for Johnny Lightning) is also avaliable and gives photos-and listings- of their stepvans and tanks.

Sorry, this info is all second hand, I haven't read it. See ad: www.1-87vehicles.org/Ads/ad_bontrager_ebook.phpI have read it and wrote a review that's on the 1/87 Vehicle Club's website. Dave's book is very helpful, but is a tough read. It's more a collection of articles and chapters than a book. Good reference, though.

Dear Sirs:
Lledo Toys - A Collectable Guide by Charlie Mack.
The thing with Lledo was - to MAR's surprise - the fact that their buses were issued in 1/87 rather than the British standard of 1/76 scale. Also, they were the first ones to offer a model of the GMC Scenicruiser but there were two errors with it: it was a 35 footer, and it cames with liveries other than Greyhound. Otherwise,it was a nice effort. Other buses include AEC Renown, Bristol Lodekka, Daimler Fleetliner,Setra Tour bus and others on an immense amount of liveries and this book lists the majority of this and gives details of some more that were done. Good reference for its manufacturer which was the last UK made manufacturer before its acquisition by Corgi.

Hey Folks, Maybe I'm a bit chauvinistic but I think one of the best is our Dutch magazine. It is in Dutch but you also can take a look at www.ho-modelautoclub.nl/ The site is in Dutch; English and German. You'll be surprised! Greetings, Cor
