Happy Easter! It was a surprize today, but the traditional Easter service in church today ended up with an automotive theme. I know this isn't the place to start a sermon on religous beliefs, but I will say it was kind of cool, and very unexpected when they drove a restored Model T Ford roadster, and a brand new Corvette (borrowed from a Chevy dealership) onto the stage with one on either side of the pulpit. They brought the cars out from behind the curtains while the congregation's attention was diverted elsewhere. When everyone turned back towards the pulpit, there was the pastor, flanked by two cars. Down below the stage were hundreds of flowers, and behind was the entire choir and band. It was quite a picture. I wish I had my camera with me. The pastor used the two cars to visually illustrate several different points throughout the sermon. Its a big church, but I still have to wonder how they got the cars in the church and up on stage. I think alot of people who just come once or twice a year, may be coming back more often since the pastor will do things like that on occasion to grab your attention and to illustrate a point or make a connection with the audience.
