Dear All:
Well, is Maisto, and there is no chance that will be reduced to 1/87.
They introduced a series of flatbed trucks which carries a car and as of now, there is a car carrier. A 'lowered' Ford F-600 truck is mostly used.
And with a surprise: one of the Car Carriers had a single car load: the only model in existence of the Pontiac G6. It was part of the Transit Authority before the series was shot down an renamed Fresh Metals. I been looking for this model for nearly two years; even at eBay it does not show often, and if it does, the price asked is ridicolous.
Also, it seems that the Pontiac Model which is on the Car Carrier is a more 'detailed' item. No matter.I will get the truck tomorrow, and contrary to what I alaways do I will open the pack.
Another one found. Next, riding very high on my list is Motormax Dodge Diplomat,Aries and Reliant K and T/C Wagon. Oh, truly wondeful year!!

Dear All:
Got the 1972 Ford Bronco from Matchbox. I liked it, albeit the paint covered (spot? - you know, the little triangular window which opens) little window makes it to llok a bit as a cheap model. High, 4x4 wheels, hook, only the driver's area is covered. The front grille is proprely done.

Dear All:
I did navigated Motormax site today and found out that they will mold two distinct models of the Dodge Diplomat: a 1986 model, civilian version, in 1/24 scale, and the Police version, in 1/64 scale. The difference in these is the front grille. The Police Unit carried one with the same front (and complex) front grille whic was introduced in the early 1980's, while the civilian version had another, more elegant, front design (personally, I like the Police version better).Would be interesting if these two versions graduates to 1/87 scale.

Dear All: Well, I should confess that I did a duh!! routine here. I identified the car above as a Pontiac based on its front grille; it has the split grille these cars come with;but the rear lenses and a transparent roof did not looked right. Well, I happy to say that in reality this car is a Lincoln XKR (new Lincoln in 1/64 scale, cool!!) and it comes in Blue (as I saw) and Burgundy colors. It also part of the car/trailer model series,so I will choose to buy the latter. So, the G6 is still a difficult item to spot and will be interiorless if found; the Lincoln is one of the better castings from Maisto. The car/trailer series also offers the 1987 Caprice as a 'normal' height sedan (thanks, Maisto - this car was long overdue in three inch or any other scale, for that matter). I also informed that Shelby is been manufacturing lately, 1/1 and 1/64 scaled cars. Today I got one of these (minature) cars: the 1968 Shelby. Opening doors, panels, mirror detail and so on, 100% diecast as the former Playing Mantis cars, rubber tires, authentic rims (a model for Hakan, perhaps? Yeah,I know -no). As I looked at the back of the card, it appears that nine different models are avaliable. I am also noticing that the Greenlights are just Missing from the shelfs - literally. These, besides the great (and very detailed; hence the $4.00 tag) bodies, have rims which also look correct; their 1965 Dodge Coronet actually come with two sets of wheels (NASCAR Pace Car version, 426 Hemi type with a very beautiful black color). Their 1972 Oldsmobile Pace car looks better than the one from Playing Mantis; alas, this casting has a higher rating than the Mantises. And ended the evening with the sole model I know of the Ford Excursion (SIKU territory; 1/55 scale) in DONK (Monster Truck - aaargghhh!!!) version. Jada Toys. This truck been around for a while; just had the opportunity to grab it. When it was released, it was part of a set, and I waited to come as single; when I saw that was avaliable only as a DONK as a single unit, I waited for the normal version, but up to now it did not happened, so there, now I have it. Jada also molds the pick up based on the early, 1960's, Ford Van and this one comes as a low rider (alas, quite low). Hm.Well. Next time.

Dear Perez:
Up to now, I been unable to find their AEC Routemaster (and that is at its second coloring as we speak) Double Decker Bus in the stores; some models do have this problem. Alas, I expected the 1972 Bronco to be difficult to find, but that is not the case. I also did expected the Alfa to be eBay sellers pet, albeit members from the MCCH forum been finding them and different variations of it as well, so I do not understand this myself. The Bentley was not introduced yet, that is what I understand, and that will be another one which will be grabbed by the eBay dealers - my opinion, of course. Both are superb models, period.

Dear All: I broke my own rule and opened the pack from Shelby Collectibles 1968 Shelby. Wonderful model. The Hood closes tight; even if I shake the model upside down it will not open; the opening doors are also well done and I liked its mirror detail. Decent chassi design and it is screwed togheter, so mor details can be added; window chrome is also shown. I already spoke of the wheels, but I will let the pictures below to do the rest of the talking. What is avaliable in 1/64 scale. The collor of the one I have is green. Hi there, Mr. STANHAS87 I already saw some matchbox alfas on ebay and bentley as well but they asking like around $2+. I alraedy got enough with the s&h cost let alone the $2. I gotta search harder. maybe to try to go to walmart, but for that i got to go to either Pensylvania or North Carolina, because where I live there is no walmart. Now, about the AEC routemaster double decker bus, i even haven't seen the original colored version. *sigh* car collecting aint easy.

Dear Perez:
I bit the bullet and got the Routemaster via eBay and when all the costs are added, yeah, one can buy a mini-fleet of them, but that is that - they will not be found, period, unless an accident happens (like the Mexican Taxi: got a boxed - rare item, for 2003 was the last year for boxes - and a cardboard version via eBay; and on a beautiful day I was walking at K Mart and there they were - two of them!! But that was that ever since) and one gets lucky enough to get two of the Hearses - happended to me, via K Mart again - but I suspect that will be that, too.
The Bentley is out, and the MCCH crowd is already getting them (along with the new #3, Porsche) and even changing the wheels for the former one!! Anyway. There is a rumour that an Audi R8 will come to life.
Others which I expect problems with is Motormax Fresh Cherries Dodge Aries, Plymouth Reliant, 1979 Chrysler T & C Station Wagon and my long time wished one - Dodge Diplomat. Yes, collecting is hard, and there are several vul..... er, persons doing it even more difficult.
Good luck in your chase. If I found these in quantities, I drop you a line.

What is this "Bentley" that you are referring to? Just curious, I don't really know what is occurring in the S-scale world.

Dear All:
The Yat Ming three inchers been around since the 1970's and were considered fine at their time. These castings, however, had more lifes than a cat, as far as their packaging and avaliability were concerned. I rounded the first ones at Toys R Us, and at the time I was not experienced with the collecting pressigers and was not paying attention to the packaging and they were also disposed of. In between, as the store was not bringing them any longer, I got some at the mail-order places and found some on kiosks as well and these were the boxed (window boxes) and this time I kept them. As the 1980's went by, there were special packs for the ones avaliable at K B toys (green, if my memory does not fail) and Woolworths, who, at the early 1980's were the only ones offering the usual and new castings an the packs were white.
It did not stopped there, however. Some of these castings were offered at Dollar Stores and/or suoermarkets with again new packaging and the castings either spotted the Yat Ming name or were blanked out, with 'Made in...... somewhere inscriptions only. In the 1990's, and for a brief time, these were marketed as Immperial Toys, and the cars had a sticker at the base identifying the vehicles as made by that manufacturer. Tractor Trailers were also offered.
Alas, speaking of Tractor-Trailers, Yat Ming also had a selection of some, on near 1/87 scale. Here, there events been the rule: the generic packaging for supermarkets or other places which had toy aisles (and interesting vehicles, such a copy of Majorette's Bernard Truck, Ford Cabover, Kenworth and Ford C series; Yat Ming been the first to offer this tractor as a built item and close to 1/87 scale); store promos, such as K Mart and its predecessors, or movies/TV showa, such as the Kenworth from B.J. and the Bear TV show. The tractors were also offered without the trailers.
As the 1990's progressed, I would buy these lower castings from the supermarket and would classify them at my inventory under the distribuitor's name; later,at a toy store,I found these casting without that latter's markings at the packaging. At the beggining at this Century, I discovered that these were Yat Mings, and by now, their three-inchers were of the cheap kind, albeit some interesting vehicles were made, such as the European Ford Granada and Toyota Van.Long's Pharmacy were the last ones to offer the three inch Yat Mings, and they were done with these by 2001. In between, the Manufacturer was doing vehicles at the larger scales; the smallest size being 1/72 scale.
One would think that that was that, right? No, not really. In early 2007, on a 99 Cent Only Store I discovered some 1/64 scale vehicles with Corgi Markings. I reported my findings at the MCCH site and I was told that these were (early 1980's and some of the 1990's castings) Yat Ming castings. I did not saw these for long; now they do not show up anywhere. In between, this manufacturer did a series of fine casted Pick Up; as of now, they are at their third or four coloring; I already listed these elsewhere.
The Saga does not stop here.
Osco Pharmacies were bought by CVS, and the former had very cheap castings by summer, but these are gone for at least 10-15 years. As of 2005 or so, Osco got Toys R Us internal brand, Fast Lane, as their cheap - so to speak - line of diecast cars. As CVS took over, by 2006 or so, the brand were re-called Toy Zone, and the cars were mostly by Motormax. As of last month, however, the packaging was re-designed, and the castings are by Yat Ming as of now, including that Volvo Wagon (sole miniature of it in 1/64) I been looking for a while. Again, 1980's and 1990's castings.
Also on the news from iHobby, Motormax will offer the Ford Granada and Dodge Omni in 1/64. The Comet and Bobcat will not be a choice for the time being.

Dear All:
Score!!!!!! Been at Wal Mart today, and there it was: Matchbox Alfa Romeo Giulia GTV, just sitting there at the front row, waiting for me. I attempted to find another one, but no go. I also saw Maisto's new castings, such some generic stuff (et tu, Maisto?), a custom 1953 Studebaker and a Volvo XC90, albeit these are still interiorless, despite their accurate shape (something has to be done about that).
Mattel always does it like that: prior to October, it releases its new year's releases (while Matchbox introductions languishes at the same period). Two custom whichever and a 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500, red and white. The wheels, the wheels, as many would say here. Otherwise, it looks fine.
I also got Greenlight's Charger SRT8 and again broke my rules by releasing it before buying a duplicate. Better than Mattel's version (right shape) and more details than the Charger from Matchbox (there is a SRT logo at the front grille, third light inprint, and some other details), so that model is what everyone is telling about this Manufacturer. There are more - far more I want, but I have to fix my piggybank - one more time.
