When I was growing up, I remember the announcement of a new model of a vehicle seemed to be a big deal. There was lots of mystery prior to it's introduction to the market to build up the anticipation in the television and magazine ads of the day. Here's one from 1957 for the Edsel that I found that made me think of this. Doesn't it just want to make you run down to the Ford dealer just to get a look?
