While great nostalgia, the pictures remind me of the reason one NEVER uses illustrations as the basis for making a model. The artists almost invariably made the cars longer, lower and bigger than the real cars.

I'll have to agree with you Bill, the artists that did a lot of these drawings made them out of proportion to make them more elegant or larger looking than the real thing. But the colors are interesting to note as well as some of the obscure models such as the DeSoto above. By the way, that picture could well be captioned "Goodbye dear, and say goodbye to your last paycheck too."
