Great old photos Lee. Interesting to see the "vote for annexation" banner over the street in the one shot. Much of the rest of the country might wish it had come to fruition of late.

Here are three more photos of Brand posted mainly for the vehicles in them. This one is kind of rare because it is looking South from Broadway instead of looking North. The two blocks on the far side of the street are in a major construction at the moment.

It seems I that I am always getting some interesting equipment parking across the street from me. Interesting trailer: The rear unfolds and lowers using hydraulics. The load. The nose of the trailer. Note the back slant of the stepdown. The back of the cab with a headache rack Interesting wheel wells on the rear. Here is another that popped up. It was a four vehicle transport, which I didn't get a picture of. It was what was on it that caught my attention: The engine is in the rear: The other two vehicles on the transport were a couple of jelly beans.

Up the page in the old photos I mentioned that the two blocks across the street were in a major reconstruction. Here is what it looks like today looking North from the other end of the two blocks. I think the top five floors are going to be condos. I just don't think I would trust the support of the first floor in an earthquake.

While walking over to Jerry's today, I saw this sitting in the street: In the next block where I had taken the two photos of the bobcat I found they were moving right along. This is a pie shaped lot with the narrow end less than ten feet across, which is where this shot is taken. Note the I beams in the ground with the retaining wall starting to take shape on the right. A closeup of the equipment enjoying Thanksgiving together. After we finished for the day, we went over to BHH to see what was new. They had built a section facing the counter just for Ricko. (The new releases will finish filling it up )

Four photos of the pie shaped construction sight. On the right side the planks are on the inside edge of the I beams but on the left side the planks are on the outside edge. I wonder why......... A couple of shots of a mini backhoe that loads the trucks. What the loaded dump trucks have done to the sidewalk........

I love to walk over to Jerry's place as I get to see all kinds of sights. How is this for a rear ender........... Notice that the driver's area is fairly intact. And here are some more of the pie shaped construction site.

Awesome pics Lee. One look at the gender of the driver explains doing it the hard way.

There is a new "toy" in town. We had the "billboard" display truck with a two sided billboard mounted on the back. Then they came out with digital computer screens on top of taxis. Now we have a full blown digital display on the sides and backs of trucks which just drive around day and night. Look at the images on the two photos. You can see the advertising moved. I tried to get one at night lighted while it was moving but.............. well you get the idea. 986

That must be the worst idea I have ever seen. I thought LA was already wrestling with problems of pollution and congestion? How something like this could possibly be legal is way, way beyond me.
