could anyone tell me what models were made of the Super Series-1/43 size? Someone told me only six were made. I've just started collecting the 1/87 size in this past year and it's becoming an obsession...thanks..~DAN TEXTTEXT

Good luck with your hunt. These models are really hard to find, specially the Seat 1500 wagon.

That a pretty awful looking model, were they all that bad?
I have always wanted the 60 Ford. Did the series always use that rotten warping plastic?
I have a later series 1/87 60 Studebaker Lark that appears to be styrene plastic.

Many of Anguplas' models are warped, that's what makes the little misfits so wonderful. Some of them looked like they've been in a some kind of freaky fender bender or something. I would have to say they were removed from their molds too soon, before they completely set up and they were sold anyway. I have some that are "fairly" free of warpage. The boxes are cool too. If you really look at the cars, they have great detail and are realistic looking minus warpage. I have about 50 of them. Anguplas made a worldly assortment of autos, trucks and various other PLASTILANDIA toys. I have the 1/43 Ford you mentioned, the only 1/43 I have.

you are correct regarding the detail aspects of the models, nameplates etc. I have had great luck making castings off of Anguplas models, then reworking them in resin to remove the warping please see the EBAY auction I listed today. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3181905816&category=484The 61 Lark is based on the Anguplas model. Nice work! And if you want to offer a best seller model I would suggest you the Anguplas Pegaso Z102, one of the prettiest cars ever done.

I would have to say they were removed from their molds too soon, before they completely set up and they were sold anyway. I guess the warpage has something to do with exposure to UV light, which makes certain components of the plastic "evaporate" over time.

Normally, I would agree with the destructive qualities of UV light on many things. However, some of the models I have came from cool, lightless storage from older store stock. Those models are just as warped as the ones that were displayed. I have also done manufacturing and molding, and often our items would look ok initially out of the mold, but would start to show mold removal errors as they set up. I also think that the reason some of these really warped ANGU models are still around is, no one wanted them at the time--seeking a more perfect model. Personally, I LOVE THESE cars and just spent a fortune on them. Some invest in stocks, I seem to have found my toy cars to entertain me instead. I thank everyone who has responded to all of these postings. DANIEL
