www.skipco.com/saa/pages/auct_listing/listing.phpOn this page, 2 Vector M12 are for sale at 4.1.2006. Imagine, 2 cars that are realy hardly ever seen on the street at one time. Vectors are for me one of the greatest things on wheel. And werry misterious too. Built in Florida, but in no puplication is Vector descripted as a american car. Why that? Other cars like AC Cobra an DMC De Lorean are built in England but they are regardet as US cars.

The Vector isn't described as an American car? Where? I've never seen it described as anything else, although I remember there being some Indonesian involvement in the Vectors that were actually built - a legacy from the brief period when Mega Tech of Indonesia (= Tommy Suharto, the Indonesian President's highly unpleasant son) owned both Lamborghini and Vector. These M12s are both Lamborghini engined, although one is painted in stars and stripes with a big old ugly eagle on the front.
The cars for sale on this site are ones that have been taken from criminals by US law enforcement, so most likely these Vectors previously belonged to one of the many Florida cocaine kingpins.
Michael Sheehan of Ferraris Online writes:
"At the peak of the last economic boom, Vector s/n 48013 went to Japan for $375,000. Recently this same Vector changed hands in Japan for 10,000,000 Yen or about $65,000 USD. The new owners then spent another 2,000,000 Yen or about $13,000 USD for repairs and updates. Assuming 48013 will now run and drive for more than a few feet before spewing steam and shedding parts, it should prove a lot of thrills for not very much money. Ultimately, the Vector should be viewed as a minor footnote to automotive history, and a way to play "stump the parking lot attendants" at the local Four Seasons."
Altogether perhaps 35 Vectors were built, 17 by Mega Tech and the rest by Jerry Wiegert.

Just testing the way to pust thumbnails that Lee posted in the member's only area: mod: yes, it works perfectly. Click the thumbnail (although the bigger shot isn't the same as the small one, you can use whatever pictures you'd like)

I would strongly suggest not reading this article, which is full of errors (the WX-3 was presented before Wiegert left the company, Wiegert's name is often misspelt, the production numbers are incorrect, etc etc) and glaring omissions. For a worthwhile, well-researched article with useful links, just go to Wikipedia and look up Vector Aeromotive.

The Vector has been made by Ricko in the 18th scale. Any plan to make it in 87th scale ?

The Vector rims look almost exactly as those used on the Ferrari Mythos, if anyone wants to scratch build one...
