If anyone else is fasinated with the Roskopf omnibus as I am, try a Google search for charabanc. I think it is the English name for the same thing. There are pictures of a 1920's model T omnibus with RHD for hire plus many others. They seated anywhere from nine to twentyeight people depending on the size. They were mainly open with a canvas top that could be applied if it rained.
If anyone has another name for these vehicles please post it here.

So "charabanc" is another English word for a bus? Strange! At first, it’s a French word, a "Char à bancs", an open horse drawn carriage with benches (char or chariot = coach and bench = banc). Funny…

OK so it's French. It works on a search engine and thats what counts. All the hits I had using that French word were in English showing English vehicles so I assumed that it was English. Jitney pulls up nothing of interest in vehicles.

Sylvain and I are good friends and I too wish there was less water between us. Both the message board and snail mail help shorten the distance.
