Has anyone seen or know of any models of battery powered, fuel cell powered, hybrid type vehicles? I know that the US and Japan has made trial vehicles. Anything being done in Europe?

Yes, most certainly ! Both Mercedes and BMW are working on fuel cell cars. As far as I know there are models available as well although these look like normal cars and not like the Toyota Prius / Honda Insight.

Dear Sirs:
I know the model of vehicles that are not fossil-fueled,but none of these are 1/87................
I hope that some of these-be it from the past or present-do graduate in this scale.
By the way:a Stanley Steamer CAN be considered a non-fossil vehicle, right?

Dear Lee: I think that the Stanley Steamer was a steam-powered machine;hence it burned water. Then again, one has to wonder what was used to heat the water.............................

This is an interesting site that Christian shared with us. The speed they achieved before 1910 is impressive considering that very little of what we have and know today was just not available then. Most cars produced today could not reach a speed of 150 mph.

Dear Christian:
Very interesting site! I know that Stanley was one the last steam car manufacturers;I did not expected that their vehicles had some many technical aspects.
Fortunately,there are Stanleys in 1/87.
